Alison kept her head bowed as she waited for Vivian to Speak. She started to put her hands behide her back but stopped, Vivian often said it presented an image of fear, and the action made her even more angry every time, it her made her feel that she had more control over her. Alison let her arms hang at her sides.

Carefully, Alison peeked through her eye lashes at her Stepmother, Her curly black hair laid over her shoulders, her checks were pink from lots of makeup, her eye lashes were a dark black and her teeth were colored white.

Did Vivian ever think of anything besides beauty and riches? Her Stepmother stood unmoving, not making a sound, the silence made her uncomfortable. Vivian liked to draw out the waiting, knowing it only made Alison more nervous. Having to stand and wait to hear what she was in trouble for was perhaps the worst part.

At long last when Vivian spook, her hoarse voice sent a chill down Alison's back, she wasn't sure why she was so nervous, she had been in this spot many of times since her father died, it wasn't something new, but still every time was like the first.

"So I see you are making friends? and a boy at that?" Vivian circled around her as she always did when she was scolding her, Vivian must of thought it was more intimidating and frightening.

"What did you do now?" Audrey asked with a creepy giggle as she walked down the stairs with her backpack on her back, her blonde curls dangled down her shoulders

"I mean don't get me wrong, I can think of a lot of things, but what specifically this time?" Audrey stood beside Vivian, both of their dark glares made Alison want to hide but she couldn't, she couldn't do anything, she was stuck, stuck in the same spot she had been in stuck in more times then she could count.

Her breaths came out faster now, she was dangerously close to speaking, but she forced the words down, it was just best to let Vivian explain, she herself wasn't even sure what she had done wrong.

"I saw the way you snatched that boys help from my Audrey, how despicable." Vivian spat the last words as though they were poison.

"I let you go to that school, and practically for nothing at that, and this is how you repay me and Audrey?" Her Stepmothers voice lowered to a quiet whisper. "I don't want you to make any friends, I want you to just go to school and get an education, so you can get a job, and help pay the bills. Ignore everyone around you. Do you understand?"

Alison almost wished her Stepmother would just yell instead. A dark feeling of oppression, of an evil presence in the room, came over her, as it often did when Vivian was chastising her.

The workers looked uncomfortable as they tried their best to do their job without eavesdropping into their conversation.  "You guys can leave now" Vivian addressed the workers. "You can finish bringing in the rest of the boxes. Come on Audrey, I'll bring you to school." Vivian spook as she walked past Alison and out the door. "After all you are my slave now, so do as I say"

Who did she think she was? Alison had to be leaving for school, or she was going to be late. How was she suppose to bring everything in alone? It was the last truck load, so hopefully there wouldn't be to much left to bring in.

Audrey Sinkered as she walked out the door and followed after her Mother.

Alison tried to walk as fast as she could, to make it to her last class before it was to late, Opening her locker door she grabbed her books. As she placed her hand on the door to shut it, the class bell rang. Putting her books back, she buried her head in her locker, aggravation filled inside her, if only Vivian hadn't made her bring everything in alone, then she wouldn't have been late.

"Is there something interesting in there? Can I see?" A playful voice asked. Alison pulled her head out of her locker, looking to her side Conner stood leaning towards her a mere few inches away.

Surprised by his nearness Alison backed up into her locker door, hitting her head against it, she reached up to rub the pain.

"I am so sorry, are you OK? Conner asked concerned. Reaching out, he tried to look at the back of her head. Still up against her locker door, Alison stood still, she wasn't sure what to do, his nearness made her nervous, she wished it didn't, did this mean she was having feelings for him? No that couldn't be, she couldn't let that happen. Vivian didn't even want her to acknowledge his existence, let alone like him.

Conner's eyes lit up as he looked into her eyes, they seemed to capture her. His light orange and reddish hair was combed up like usual and his dark blue jeans matched his shirt. Trying to look away from his charming eyes, she looked over back into her locker. Alison wondered why she kept getting cornered in by boys.

This wasn't anything like she had expected when she found out they were moving and she was going to to go to a new school. she just thought it was going to be like normal, she attended school, learned, and went home, interacting with other people wasn't something she did often, unless it was necessary.

"Hey! Whats going on here Romeo?" A voice asked from their side. Conner and Alison turned to see who it was. Jason came up and put his hand over her opened locker door and popped his head out from the side. Enclosing on her Jason looked at Alison directly. His dark brown hair was messy, his face lightly tanned, and his arms were muscular. his grey shirt complemented his skin tone, he was handsome.

"I think we've met before right?" Jason's gaze was so strong part of  Alison just wanted to duck and get some space between her and the two boys, but part of her wasn't sure what she wanted. Being so close to both of them made her nervous.

"Uh, No, I don't think so." Alison thought back to when Conner brought her to the music room, she didn't really get to met him, thanks to Audrey. And he most likely didn't even realize her existence with her step sister in the room.

"You look kinda familiar though."

"Well, You might've seen me around but we haven't talked to each other." Alison tried to explain.

"Your probably right, I don't forget when I have a conversation with somebody" Jason smiled.

Conner wrapped his arm around Jasons neck in a lose choke hold. "This is my friend Jason" still smiling Jason shook her hand.

"I brought Alison to the music room the other day when you were there, that's probably why she looks familiar to you" Conner explained.

"Oh, so you were that girl with Conner the other day hah?"

"I didn't see you in any of the classes, you cut didn't you?" Jason raised his eyebrows in suspicion, he seemed to almost find enjoyment in the idea.

"Uh, well, I had something I needed to do." Alison rubbed the back of her head as she made a displeased face, not all that excited about sharing the fact that she skipped school.

"I see, a rebellious girl. Well next time you cut class, bring me with you." He was being straight forward, like she was a long time friend, it surprised her.

Waving his hand in front of Jason's face, Conner interrupted his gaze.

"Didn't you say you had somewhere to go today?" Conner asked, trying to get Jason's attention. Taking his gaze away form Alison Jason looked at Conner.

"Oh yeah, right, I totally forgot, but I can do that later." Kate came up and stood beside her brother, her backpack on, and books in her hands.

"Hey! What's up Katy?" Jason, asked with enthusiasm.

"Uh, Alison, I was wondering if you would like to go to the amusement park with me and my sister Saturday?" Conner asked.

"That sounds like a great idea, I'll even pay for the girls, I mean it is only the gentlemen thing to do right?" Jason spoke with over confidence as he invited himself.

"Uh I don't know..."

"Oh please you have to come!" Kate pleaded as she reached out and grabbed one of Alison's hands.

"She doesn't have a choice, she's coming." Jason's voice was load and filled with confidence.
