To say I was drunk was an understatement. I lost Jamie an hour ago or so I think. I stumbled to the kitchen and grabbed a beer from the cooler and popped it open using my hands, many years off practice.
I was walking around the house and stumbled into a room and the people were putting white pills into their mouths.
"Pills?" I slurred.
"Yeah want one?" A boy asked.
I nodded and walked over and took the pill from his hand and placed it on my tongue. "Cheers mate" I raised my hand holding the beer and saluted him.
I walked back to the dance floor and everything was spinning, I felt free. Happy again. Someone grabbed my hips and placed my back against their chest I started grinding on him. He was kissing my neck, I arched my back and he groaned in my ear.
I decided I needed some fresh air and I attempted to walk out the back. I saw guys playing ping pong and a couple of people making out. I walked to the middle of the grass and sat down looking up at the stars.
Jamie's POV.
I lost her, I lost Penelope. I kept hearing about a girl dancing and how hot she was. I walked around the house about 5 times now, I walked back to where everyone was dancing and saw her grinding on some guy. She looked fucking hot. My jeans were restricting mini me. I saw her stumble out to the garden and saw her lay on my grass.
I walked over and stroked her face.
"Penelope, where were you?" I asked her.
"Having fun jay-jay" She giggled.
"Are you drunk P?"
She nodded, "and I took some pill" she giggled again. "Before I moved hiccup I was a wild one"
"Why P?" I asked her.
"I wanted to hiccup feel loved and forget everything hiccup just forget everything" tears started rolling down her face, "People said I was fat and I wanted to be skinny jay-jay hiccup I wanted to be perfect" Tears were just flowing down her face.
"Penelope look at me" She didn't look. "Penelope look at me" I grabbed her china and turned her head towards me. "You are beautiful and you don't even need to try. Your body is perfect. Everything is perfect about you Penelope." I kissed her cheek. "Let's get you home yeah?" She nodded.
I placed one arm on her back and one under her bum making sure her dress didn't show anything. I lifted her up realising how light she actually was. I carried her throughout the house and put her in the care and buckled her up.
I started the car and drove off to her house.
I picked her up and knocked on her front door. Her mum opened it and she saw Penelope and shook her head.
"Put her up in her room Jamie" She said. I nodded and walked to the room.
I grabbed a shirt and took off her dress trying not to look. I slid the top on and kissed her forehead and walked back downstairs.
Her mum had tears in her eyes "She was drunk and took drugs didn't she?" I nodded. "I thought when we moved she would stop, I thought she could be happy again. Ever since she met you she looked so happy and I just thought she would stop"
"I didn't know she was involved in that Ms Edwards otherwise I wouldn't of brought her to that party" I said.
"No one knows Jamie, ever since her dad left she just went off the rails. Hanging out with the wrong crowd, not eating. People would bully her because she wasn't skinny. She wasn't overweight just very curvy. I tried so hard and I failed her" She cried into her hands and her shoulder shook.
I walked over to her and hugged her. Sobs escaped her mouth. "You didn't fail her, no one could prevent what happened. You don't shout at her for doing those things you get her help and make sure she is better. You're the best mother she could ever ask for" I said truthfully to her.
"Thank you Jamie she is a lucky girl"
"No I'm a lucky a man Ms Edwards, but I have to get going. I'll come round tomorrow and give her a piece of my mind" I laughed and so did she.
I walked to door and she thanked me again. I got in my car and drove home.
