Chapter 3:

It was the end of Jihyo's first day as a teacher in Seoul High, and she was just about to back out from the parking space her car has occupied for a few hours.

Halfway through her ride home, she turned on her car's radio to the loudest volume.

She admits that she enjoyed being in the school, better than she planned to. Which made her scold herself, reminding herself for the infinite-th time of her plan.

Her train of thoughts suddenly stops as a familiar bleached-hair guy suddenly pops out of nowhere and stops in the middle of the road; making Jihyo's foot dive down real hard on the brakes.

Unluckily, Jongin was probably just inches away when he came which was the reason that he still got hit by Jihyo's car. without being aware of getting hit and not sensing any pain, Darkness quickly enveloped the young man.

Over to the side where Jongin just slipped out of, a group of men who had bats and pocket knives in their hands, got shocked of the scene happening in front of them and quickly turned around and ran.

Jihyo's state of mind was kind of slow, trying to process what just happened.. 'I just hit a person.. I hit a person!'

She quickly got out of her car and went down on her knees and was about to put Jongin's head on her lap, but stopped as she remembered that she might just make it worse if she moves him. Instead, she ran back to her car and hurrily grabbed her phone out.

After dialling 119, all this seonsaeng could do is stare at her unconscious student. Tears started to form in her eyes, but she fought back. She needs to be strong for her student.

Five minutes, all it took was five minutes for Jihyo to memorize Jongin's facial feature. His bleached hair was swept aside by the cold wind, revealing his bronzy skin.

Remembering how she poked his soft cheeks earlier, which now was turning into this dark purple color as a bruise was forming. His cute nose, down to his cherry red lips that now has a deep cut.

And then the ambulance came, wherein two people dressed in bluish green in color came out with a stretcher. Jihyo watched as they carefully moved Jongin from the ground to the stretcher, and was about to walk back to her car.

"Miss," one of the men held her arm, "You can't go yet. We need somebody who can tell us the whole story."

And without further talking, she nodded and hopped on. Texting her bestfriend on the way to the hospital.

To: Eun-hye

Can you please pick my car up at xx street, you have your spare key right? I kind of have an emergency going on right now, please and thank you!

And chucking her phone away in her pocket. She's sure that those bruises and cuts he has on his face was not because of her car...

Jongin woke up in an all white room, only yellow tulips on the side table brought color. The sky outside was already dark, so he must have been sleeping for quite some time.

He looked down to his right arm where he felt something hold it up, and yes, his arm is in a cast.

He doesn't even remember what happened. He only knows that he's in a hospital, again, because he recognize the familiar smell of rubbing alcohol and death.

And then a sleeping person's head on the bed caught his eye, it was Jihyo ahjumma with drool dripping down from her mouth as she lets out soft snores. And then he remembers. If it wasn't for her, he would've been dead already.

Ha! That was ironic, Because if it wasn't for her, he wouldn't even be in the hospital in the first place either.

'She must be really tired.'

He stretched his free arm to reach and lightly pat the ahjumma's head, not meaning to wake her up, but she did.

Her head shot up and she dreamily stared at Jongin, who was wearing a blue hospital gown, as she was still half-asleep.

"Why are you in my dreams?" She asks with a groggy voice, confused and surprised.

She only fully awoke when she heard Jongin chuckle, "I'm real."

She covers her mouth in shock, but then quickly recovers. "Are you okay now?"

"Hmp! You're forgetting something."

"Mwo?" She asks back, a blank expression on her face.

"Hasn't anybody taught you manners before? What do you say when you hurt somebody, unintentionally." Jongin lectured.

"M-mianhae?" She states while looking clueless.

"Apology not accepted!" Jongin huffed, irritated.

"Ya! You're really looking for a fight, aren't you?"

"Hmp! You must've been a leader of a group of delinquents." Jongin states.

"Bwoh? What did you say?" Jihyo asks, getting angry. "Maybe you are!"

Instead of what Jihyo thought would start an arguement between them, Jongin only turned silent and look down to his injured arm.

Pressuming that is the truth, Jihyo forced herself to talk again. "Are you really?"

"Shut up." He stated while still avoiding eye contact with Jihyo.

"Okay, let's change the question. Why are people calling me your next target? What's this all about?"

"I don't even know what you're talking about. The hell?"

"I was supposed to do this tomorrow, but I'm just going to do it now," Remembering that she was planning an interrogation for this young man. "what happened last year? Is it about a girl?"

"Ugh. You're so nosy, did you know that?" Jongin was mad, the last thing he needed is to have somebody make his life their business. He doesn't want any pity nor any help, especually from a stranger, he's fine by himself. "Who did you get that gossip from?"

"Don't act sharp, do you really think I'd rat Sulli out?" Jihyo stop, covering her mouth, "Ah, crap."

"Well, ajumma, you just did. And really? I didn't take Sulli sunbaenim as a gossiper.." He thinks really well, scaring Jihyo as she thinks this young man would do something bad to Sulli.

"I will act witness if you ever do anything to her!"

"Tsk, you two are the one talking about me. Aren't I the one getting abused by a seosaeng?"

"Stop saying nonesense Kim Jongin, you know I-"

Their arguement came to an end as the door swings open to reveal a nurse, "Miss, visiting hours end in ten minutes."

She obediently nods, and the nurse steps out.

"I'll be back to visit tomorrow after school, I promise." Putting on her thick coat, enjoying the warmth it brought to her in an instant.

"Don't even bother, I'm going out now. Check me out of here, ajumma." Jongin countered, trying to stand up.

"Well, too bad. I've already paid for your stay, and besides, the doctors have to observe you for atleast a day. So be a good boy and rest."

"Ahh! Chongmal! Don't leave me here ahjumma!"
