Zara's pov.
I woke up in my bedroom. Ice bag on my head with some guy next to me. His hair a slight caramel, eyes ink black as he stared at me intensely. My vision was still a bit blurry, which cleared up as I got up, rubbing the back of my head. The boy looked at me shocked, before wrapping his arms around me. His hug was tighter than any time he's hugged me.
"What's wrong?" I pat his back. I don't know him. Why would he look at me that way.
"Y-you've been like t-this for two years." His voice raspy and shaking. It sounded familiar, a sense of comfort. But I couldn't get around to who it was.
"Two years?" I blinked in confusion, pushing him away so I could see his face. "What do you mean two years?" I kept eyeing his features. I felt something familiar. He had scars all over his face. But one of them stood out. The long curved scars that went from cheek to lips, to the other cheek.
"W-well, you've been 'sleeping'" He did the quotations with his fingers, "For two years. I think they call it a coma?"
It couldn't be someone else, but.... I smiled, pulling him in for a tight hug.
Still, I was quite shocked by this, not entirely believing him. I pat his head with a chuckle. "You don't believe me do you?" I expected his face of worry to go away but it was still there. As if it were stitched on him. I shook my head before he could grab my phone and show me the date.
... September 9, 2015
"Oh..." Jeff nodded, seeming a bit more relaxed now. I didn't want to worry him so I laughed and made a pouty face after, "Awe, I missed my birthday twice! How old would I be?" I counted using my fingers.
"Seventeen. You're seventeen Zara," He grabbed my hands and kissed them, "Happy incredibly late birthday Zara." He flashed a quick smile before getting off of my bed. Jeff made a goofy smile, walking out, "Wait here."
I was confused but let him go. Sighing I stood up, legs a bit shakey. It was a bit trouble some to get out of bed. Body sore I gave up and fell on the bed.
I could hear Jeff using a baby voice to call someone's name. It was downstairs so I couldn't exactly hear or figure out the name.
After a while, Jeff came in the room. Something moving around in his sweater. He had an idiotic smile as he sat down next to me. Jeff put his hand over my eyes as he pulled something out of his sweater. What ever it was, it was heavy, and licked my face before Jeff could pull it away.
A beautiful albino pittbull terrier puppy. It jumped around, in his grasp, slobbering all over his face.
"This is Aldo. I got him for you a long time ago. The doc said you would get up a year after the thing but you didn't. " He let go of Aldo, letting me pet him. "But you didn't. So he's been here since the day Doc said you'd get up by." He chuckled, kissing my head.
Jeff's pov.
Oh god was a happy she woke up. There was no longer a way to tell when she would wake up after last year. Just hope that we didn't loose her. I didn't even think of telling Slenderman of her waking up. I wanted to keep her to myself for just a little bit. The dog being the only thing that came to mind.
Going downstairs, I couldn't find him. I called out his name countless time, hoping Zara couldn't hear me. After a while, he finally popped up from under the couch. He only responded to the baby voice Zara's mom used with him so I had no choice.
Once in my hands, the giant puppy went inside my sweater. He seemed to enjoy being in it since all he did was stare up at me and stay still.
I huffed, looking over to see if Slenderman was awake.
Thankfully not. I could feel an idiotic smile spreading across my face. Which I hated, but couldn't resist. Opening the door a bit, I could see Zara trying to get up. I laughed some at her attempt, opening it when she laid down.
Seeing her up and about was really nice. Nice to have her here. I shook my head, walking over to sit next to her. She was about to get up when I covered her eyes and pushed her down, letting Aldo jump over her before moving my hand away.
Zara seemed happy about it. But overwhelmed so I pulled him back, letting her get up before letting go.
