_________________________________We walked into our room together, but went our separate ways; after I had explained that I would be there for Jameson, we walked back coated in a thick sheet of an awkward silence. I knew I had told him what was on my mind and I was pleased that I had done that, but the silence shouldn't have bothered me as much as it did.
I sighed as I walked to my bed, but was stopped short as fingers grabbed my wrist. My arm was tugged at and I immediately found myself springing into Jameson. I cringed when I smashed right into him—the space apart was probably no more than an inch.
My breathing hitched in my throat as I gazed into Jameson's eyes. I found myself wondering what this feeling was—it felt electric, but I also found myself feeling rather small, wanting to shy away.
Tuning back into reality, Jameson's fingers remained locked around my wrist, the owner of them unaware of my current mental situation. His other hand rose up to my face and his fingers fluttered over my skin, the lightest touch sending the highest frequency of electricity through my body.
"I actually wanted to say thank you," His voice was soft, oh so soft. It hit my eardrums like a melody—I had never heard Jameson's voice so velvet.
He looked down at his fingers before looking into my eyes, "For what you said about you being a friend." I nodded.
"It's fine, really, I just wanted to help." My voice rang out as clear as day, but quiet and timid.
Jameson looked at me with a glimmer shining in his eyes, sparkling under the light. "Of course you did because you're that type of person." I frowned at him, and just when I was about to ask him to elaborate, Jameson brushed his thumb over my cheekbone. My mouth went dry and my heart started thumping against my chest.
What does this all mean? Why do I feel this way? He is my guardian. Come on Sky, pull it together.
And just as I was about to pull away–
"Caleb, how dare you disobey me!" A woman's voice screeched down the hallway and Jameson and I jumped apart.
The electricity left my body and I was left feeling cold and alone. My body hungered for more but getting more was going to be impossible; I have no interest in Jameson and I never will.
My eyes snapped open and I was instantly hit by rays of the sun through the blinds. My memory was foggy and my head began to hurt as I frowned. That's when Jameson walked into my room with a mug in his hands. He set the mug down on my bedside table before his eyes flickered over to me as if sensing my gaze fixated on him.
"Oh, finally, you're awake." He announced once he had taken in my manner, and sat on the corner of my bed, just simply watching me.
I yawned, "At what point did I fall asleep?" I asked him groggily, still recovering from the weird dream.
Jameson eyed me curiously, "Well, as soon as we got in really. Though, we did have a chat first." He informed me and I raised my eyebrows.
"What chat?" I asked him, pushing myself up in my bed. Jameson eyed me with that same curiosity before clearing his throat.
"Well, I–" Jameson paused, looking rather sheepish, a rather rare appearance in his demeanour. "I thanked you for what you said earlier," Jameson continued and I nodded. So, did I just black out afterwards?
