27- Too soon?

"Damn." That was the first word that escaped the mouth of Remus Lupin as he rolled over and took a look at the clock. Midday. A meeting in less than half an hour and he wasn't awake in the slightest, Dora hadn't even stirred.

"Babe." He whispered as he rolled over again, wrapping an arm around her shoulders and gently kissing the tip of her nose, "Hey, wake up. We have a meeting in about twenty minutes."

"But I'm tired." She whispered, curling up to his chest with a sigh, "Do we have to go? I wanna stay with you."

"I'm sorry." He replied, "But we have to. And anyway, you've been with me for the last month, sweet fiancé of mine." She smiled as he called her that, excitement tugging at her heart once more.

"Oh alright." She mumbled, sitting up with a loud sigh and yawn, "I'm awake." Remus laughed briefly at her, wrapping his arms around her waist.

"Come on." He urged, "We have twenty minutes to get ready. And its a basic fact that the twins are highly... what's the word? Oh yeah, inappropriate and jump to conclusions." He let her go and slipped out of the bed, taking the blankets with him in a last ditch attempt to wake his fiancé up completely by leaving her lying there in just an oversized shirt of his and her black lace underwear.

"Remus." She whined, rolling over and starting to push herself up to sitting position, but he was already in the bathroom. With a long sigh she pushed herself up to her feet, rubbing the base of her back with a sigh. A tight, cyan blue dress was crumpled on the chair, but it was all she could find the motivation to reach for. Her hair lay down her back, golden blonde curls. Another yawn escaping her lips, she pulled on a pair of boots, giving her hair a quick puff up as Remus came out of the bathroom, also fully dressed.

"How long have we got?" She asked, meeting him at the foot of the bed with a hug.

"Fifteen minutes." He replied, wrapping his arms around her waist and pulling her in, "Probably best to get there in ten though.". Dora ran her hands up his chest before looping them around his neck, "Soon, you are going to be Mrs Lupin."

"Oh my Merlin." She whispered, pulling back from his shoulder, "I'm getting married. Mrs Lupin. I keep thinking this is a dream."

"Then its a good dream." Remus replied softly, not hesitating to place a small kiss on the edge of her lips. A small shiver rippled down her spine, forcing a contented sigh out onto his chin. She brushed back a slip of hair from his eyes, taking the opportunity to brush her lips on his cheekbone.

"I love you." She mumbled into his ear, holding him close into her body, "So much. But yeah, we should probably go."

"Hey Fred." Dora greeted the twin as her and Remus landed in the living room, "How's it going?" She wrapped him up in a quick hug, kissing each of his cheeks in turn.

"Not bad Tonks." He grinned, shaking hands with Remus after pulling away from her, "Mums just in there if you wanna go through." He pointed through the door to the kitchen with a smile. Dora linked arms with Remus and headed over to the door, smiling as she caught a glimpse of the pale pink ring on her finger.

"Hello dears." Molly grinned at them as they came through into the room, joining the ten or so people already in there. She went in to give Dora a hug, but stopped when Ginny screamed from behind her.

"Ginny?" She turned and looked at her youngest child, "What is it?"

"Is that what I think it is Dora?" The red haired girl asked, her voice at least three pitches higher than normal, "Is it?" Her hand was shaking, pointing to the small, glimmering ring upon the metamorphagus's finger. Remus blushed slightly, a proud smile playing on his lips as he looked down at his fiancé.

"Yep." She grinned, curling up to him, "He proposed last night. Couldn't believe it."

"Congratulations!" Molly squealed, "Tell me all about it later; after the meeting."

"You alright Gin?" Dora asked the young teen curled up on the sofa beside her. Remus had his arm wrapped around his future wife's waist, hand resting on her hip. The meeting had finished about five minutes previous, leaving Dora, Remus and Ginny curled up on the sofa.

"Yeah." Ginny yawned, "But I still wanna hear everything." She sat up, looking at her with a big grin on her cheeky face, "Don't miss a detail."

"He brought me this lush dress and took me out to a theatre. It was bloody amazing. Then at the end they called us up onto the stage and he proposed there. I was so happy I almost forgot to say yes."

"Bloody right you did." Remus said loudly, "I thought you'd say no. I was terrified."

"I'm sorry." Dora said softly, reaching up and giving his cheek a quick peck, "But you knew I wouldn't."

"So when are you planning on having the ceremony?" Molly asked, joining them in the room, grinning almost as much as the couple themselves.

"Well I mean obviously we need to talk to my mum and dad." Dora said with a smile, "As soon as possible after that though. We'll probably just find some small church so somewhere, and you guys are all invited of course. So yeah, week or two."

"Aww." Ginny squealed, "I can't wait! Just wait till I tell the twins!"

"Oh." Dora gasped suddenly, "That reminds me. Tell the twins Nirvana are playing in concert in a week or so. I'd be happy to take them."

"They'd love that." Molly smiled, "Thank you Dora dear."

"We should probably go now." Remus smiled, "Get back. Only woke up an hour ago. Bye Molly, give everyone our love." Together the two rose to their feet, the young girl curled up against his shoulder, though perhaps that was the result of the small stumble she made as she got up. But of course, Remus caught her. And she knew he always would. She would never be alone again.
