Chapter Five

"Delilah, when are you leaving?" Niall asks as he hands her the crepe she ordered with us. Delilah smiles at him and his face looks flushed. Obvious. He likes her too.

"In three days."

"Oh."

Silence.

Niall was never the type to express what he really felt. He's sitting there, staring at her and she's playfully staring back not realizing how much Niall would want to run up to her and kiss her. I know this because..

I want to do it too.

We're in the London Eye, girls already lined up on the ground waiting for the wheel to stop. Macy's getting nervous again.

Her hands are fidgeting and she's scanning on her itouch, sitting right next to Liam as he actively talks to Louis and Zayn.

I'm really angry.

It's bad enough that Delilah's leaving, but what's worse is that Macy's ignoring me too. I bet Lucas got her to ignore me. Liam's trying his best to get Macy to open up to him despite her being as walled up as usual. He's getting replies though.

"Are you okay Macy?" Liam asks as he and Louis look at him. She looks at them and manages a kindhearted smile. "I'm fine Liam, thank you for taking care of me."

Yes, I'm not the only one she's talking to in One Direction.

In fact, since last night she's trying her best to talk with them now too.

It's not funny.

"What do you want to do after this?" Louis asks as her as she walks over to them and watches the view. "I'd like to go to a bookstore just to check on something, if you don't mind." She replies to him so casually.

I know at first I wanted her to like One Direction. She likes the lads now, so why am I acting like this?

"We don't mind!" Zayn says happily.

I do.

I mind a lot.

MACYMACY

Last night, when Harry stormed off and left me in the hallway, it turned out Liam, Louis and Delilah were by the stairs listening.

"He-hello..." I croaked to them. Delilah immediately ran up and wrapped her arms around me, telling her to open up to the others because soon she'd be gone too.

I get it. I get it. She's leaving.

"I'll look out for you Macy, please open up okay?" Liam asked that night. Both Louis and Liam really. They both asked me to be with them and be my friend. I have to stop living in the past.

I have to let go of that night.

They're not at fault.

Right now, we're at the London Eye and their happily talking to me, asking me what I would like to do. Zayn is participating in trying to be my friend as well and I'm really happy about it. I can't wait to tell Lucas tomorrow morning about everything.

"So what's up with you and Lucas?" Zayn asks casually as he checks himself out on his reflection. My cheeks turn red instantly and I can only guess it's from the cold. I look down on my shoes and cough. "Aw, Macy's in love!" Louis screamed.

I look at him with a desperate face and told him to keep quiet but he only ran off to the other side, forcing me to chase him. 

They're okay now.

I am okay now right?

I have to ignore the crowd that we're slowly approaching.

"Are you okay Hazza?" Louis asks as we stumble in front of Harry. His expression's been sour since this morning. I guess he hates me still, so I stood up and walked back to Liam.

Liam, like an older brother, isn't doing anything awkward for me. They're all like brothers and like what brothers do, they gave me advice. "Leave him be." whispered Liam. "He gets jealous easily."

I turn to look at Delilah and Niall who are kicking each other from the other side and laughing. I get it now. He likes Delilah. 

So he's not mad at me.

I smile, despite being sad. He's not mad and that means we're still friends. Even just being friends would be okay.

The screams started roaring and I immediately clutch at my chest. I hope I can hold on to Liam for the time being. There's no way I can't calm down with those loud noises waiting for us. "1D! 1D! 1D! 1D!" Oh god.. I breathe in and out loudly and close my eyes. It's okay, I'll be okay because Liam is here and Liam will protect me.

Liam will protect me.
