Joy POV.

I gently scrubbed the Marble counter, looking off in the distance. I felt a tight pain in my stomach.

Holding on the counter, Red slowly walked in.

"Hi." I faked a smile.

"How you been?" Red said.

"I'm okay, why you all dressed in black? Looks like your going to a funeral." I smirked.

"Maybe, I am." Red teased.

My smile died down, I played with my wedding wring looking down.

"I thought you went with Elvis." I said.

"I wanted to stay, y'know keeping a eye on you." Red winked.

I felt my face get a little hot, I bit my lip gently.

"I'm sorry, for everything Red. Your a great guy and you don't deserve someone like me you need someone who can-" Red cut me off, pushing me against the wall kissing me slowly.

"No, Red. I can't go back to this. I can't. " I sobbed.

"Your beautiful Joy, I know its been forever but.... I tried to move on. I even got married but that didn't work. " Red replied.

"I'm pregnant, tired. I love Elvis. Can't you except that?" I snapped.

"I'd die to make you happy, I love you." Red, gently stroked my cheek.

I pulled away from him, Going back to the dishes.

Narrator POV.

"how's my baby girl, doing?" Elvis's voice echoed through the phone.

Joy smiled brightly, but tears shined threw her eyes.

"Just fine Elvis." Joy choked up.

"Baby I know things are Ruff, but just think of all the money well get!" Elvis piped up.

"Elvis, it's not the money I'm worried about. It's you." Joy sighed, twirling the phone cord.

"What about me? You know, never mind... We'll talk about this when you come here." Elvis hurriedly said.

"I can't come, I got the kids." Joy replied.

Silence filled the other line.
