Chapter 6 ~ Regina To the Rescue

Regina's POV

"Something's wrong." She says as she paces back and forth in her office while Emma watches her.

"I'm sure she's fine maybe she just forgot to call."

Regina pauses and slowly turns to face the blonde woman as she says, "She wouldn't just forget to call me, she knows better than that." She rolls her shoulders as she starts pacing again and says, "No something is definitely wrong. I can feel it."

Emma takes a deep breath as she says, "Okay then what do we do?" Regina fiddles with her fingers as she tries to think of a plan to somehow communicate with you. "What about Gold? Maybe he has something that can help us out."

"You may be right," Regina says as she grabs her coat and starts to head toward the door.

It didn't take the two of them long to make it to Gold's shop where he and Belle where in the back chatting. When they notice Regina walk in they both tense up. "Don't worry I just need some help."

"And why would I willingly help you deary?" Gold says as he fiddles with the handle of his cane. Regina raises an eyebrow as she says, "Because I need to leave Storybrooke."

Gold's face turns curious as he replies, "I'm listening?" Regina quickly told him about your father being in town and sending you away to protect you, but you had yet to contact her which was unlike you and she had a terrible feeling something was wrong.

"I thought she was your real daughter?" Belle says as she looks between the two of them. 

"______, is my daughter; even if not biologically."

"And what exactly do you need from me?" Gold asks interrupting the two of them.

"I need Jefferson's hat; it's the only thing left that can travel between worlds other then canceling out the curse which is out of the question."

"Why not?" Emma says interjecting them.

"Excuse me?" Regina says her anger starting to rise.

"Why not cancel the curse; won't that send everyone home?"

"It would only send those who were born in the enchanted kingdom leaving Henry here by himself is that what you want?"

Emma sighs as she says, "Of course not."

"Alright now that that's settled can I have the hat please?" Regina says as she turns back to Gold.

"As much as I want to have you leave Storybrooke, I'm afraid I can't help you."

Regina's eye widen as she says, "Andy why not?"

"Because I can't."

"Meaning?"

"I don't have the hat."

Her eyes widen as she says, "What do you mean you don't have it? Who does?"

"I guess ____ didn't tell you."

"Tell me what?" Regina says anger thick in her voice.

"______ came to Rumple to fix the hat so she could give it to Jefferson." Belle chimes in as she moves closer to Rumple. Rage fills Regina's face as she turns back to the dark one.

"And you did? What the hell were you thinking?!" Regina yells out her fists clenched tightly at her sides.

"I warned her what the cost would, be but she still persisted."

"You took half my daughter's heart?!" Regina says her eyes red with rage.

"Whoa? What the hell Gold? You took half _____'s heart?" Emma says her eyes widening in shock.

"Yes Miss Swan, I gave her plenty of chances to change her mind but sge refused. It seems she couldn't stand the sight of a certain portal jumper after him learning that our own evil queen was her mother. IT seems he didn't take it too well."

Regina's heart clenches, "I told her that would happen. I still can't believe she didn't come to me-" She pauses her eye widening at the sudden realization. "That day I saw her leaving your shop, that's what she was hiding from me behind her back; Jefferson's hat."

"Wait your daughter was in a relationship with that psycho?" Emma says making Regina roll her eyes in annoyance as she replies, "Believe me I wasn't too thrilled at the idea either, but ______'s stubborn."

"Well I see where she gets it from." Emma says as she turns away from them.

Regina raises an eyebrow as she says, "Miss Swan is there any reason in particular that you are still here?" The blonde rolls her eyes as she turns to Gold and asks, "Is there any other way other that we can use that doesn't result in leaving Henry here by himself?"

The dark one takes a deep breath before he says, "Unless you have a secret stash of Magic Beans I can't help you."

Regina looks away from them. When everything started to go downhill for her when a blast from her past showed up in Storybrooke she had set aside a secret magic bean plant in her office. "Let's say someone had a way to get a hold of one, what else would they need to do?"

"Then you would just need the Compass Miss Swan and her mother used to return to us from the enchanted kingdom."

Regina nods before she turns from them and heads back out into the street followed closely by Emma.

"Can I ask what you're planning to do?" Emma says once she catches up with Regina.

"I'm going to make sure my daughter is safe."

"But you heard gold the only-" Emma pauses as she finally puts it all together. "You have a stash of Magic Beans."

"I was going to use them to take Henry back to the enchanted forest, but _____ kept me from doing it. I need to make sure she's okay."

"I'm going to overlook the fact that you almost took Henry without me knowing and I'm going to help you. I'll go get the compass you get the beans and we'll meet at your office."

"Are you crazy? Who's gonna watch Henry?"

"Well Mary Margaret and David-"

"Oh no I am not leaving my son with the Charmings."

"Well who would you rather leave him with? My parent's or Gold?"

"Fine,"

"Okay then I'll see you in a few." Regina watches as Emma walks off before she runs a hand through her hair and heads to the mayor's office. Once there she pulls a bean from its stalk and gently runs her fingers over it as it finally sets in that her daughter had given up half her heart to be free of Jefferson.

She sighs as she makes a mental note to ask _______ once she made sure she was okay.
