"Summer's ending, Frankie."
It was a week until August had ended, they all had gone back on the first.
Gee was moving back to Jersey, Frank was staying.
The sun was setting, causing the sky to become a light orange mixed with pastel pink, and the bright yellow star was placed above quaky waves.
They were sat on a rock.
Frank with his leather jacket and ripped up jeans on, a light blue shirt underneath, his arm tucked around Gee.
Gee with her white, wool jacket hung over her shoulders, her hair flowing with the wind wherever it went, her head laying upon the crook of Frank's neck.
"I know." Frank said simply, staring out into the big blue ocean, just thinking.
What would he do without her?
"I'm moving back to Jersey," She sighed and shook her head.
Frank ducked his head down.
"Will you miss me?" She asked and closed her eyes lightly, inhaling softly.
Frank shrugged nonchalantly, and blinked once before nodding.
"Yeah. Yeah, i'll miss you."
"I don't wanna go," Gee curled in on herself, her black Mary-Janes sliding against the roughness of the rock they were sat on.
"Hey, we'll always have right now." Frank tried to lighten the mood a bit, rubbing Gee's arm in a comforting gesture.
"And tomorrow." Gee says.
"Come with me," Frank stood up, and Gee opened her eyes, looking up at Frank's gorgeous hazel ones, his hand held out to her, and she took it.
They both ran into the sand, Gee dipping her hands into the water along the way and splashing it at Frank, making him giggle and run faster.
"Gee! Gee, quit it."
Gee only laughed and wiped her hands on her jacket sleeves.
Frank held his arms out and Gee placed herself inbetween them, wrapping her frail ones around Frank's pudgy waist, his chin laying on her head.
They stayed like that for a while.
"I'm moving back to Jersey," Gee said again, breaking their calm silence, (apart from the waves crashing against the shore) and Frank giggled lightly.
"You've already said that," He tightens his grip around her neck.
She pulled back slightly and blinked.
"I know, I know, but- but I just- I can't believe it, y'know? I'm moving. Back to Jersey. I. I don't like it there. I. I wanna be here, with you, Frankie. I just want it to be me and you," Gee felt her eyes start to water and she sniffled.
"I know, babycakes." Frank nodded in understanding and kissed her cheek.
"I just. A whole Summer full of amazing things, gone to waste."
She shook her head and laughed bitterly, looking up at her Frankie.
"Yeah, but, we still always have today."
"You already said that," Gee starts, feeling Frank move his lips down to her jaw, and then her neck, and he placed rough kisses to the skin, and Gee pushed him away lightly.
"Don't spoil it, Frank." She shook her head and Frank rolled his eyes.
"Worth a shot," He muttered.
Gee slapped him on the back of the head and he laughed.
"Can I at least kiss you?" He said and grabbed her by under her jaw.
"Yes, yeah, you can," She nodded and Frank leant in, pressing his soft lips to her cherry-flavored ones, her hands trailing up his sides to place at the back of his neck.
It was slow and open-mouthed, and just a bit wet, their lips making smacking noises that fought against the sound of the ocean, and Gee swore she could hear cheesy music playing in the back of her head, y'know, the ones with violins and harps.
They switched their head's positions often, almost as if they were trying to memorize what each side felt and tasted like.
Frank tasted like mints and cigarettes, and Gee couldn't get enough, 'cause it was so Frank and she was in love.
Gee tasted like cherry and pink lemonade, and Frank couldn't get enough, 'cause it was so Gee and he was in love, too.
But they were just teenagers.
Young and dumb, did stupid things.
It always felt right when they were together, however.
Spent afternoons at the Arcade, nights at the calm, barren beach- where nobody could disturb.
Sometimes they'd make out in the backseat of Frank's car.
Sometimes Frank would try to get to second base.
Most of the time, it never worked.
Gee liked to take things slow- she didn't want to feel like a sex item- she wanted love, to feel things, and see where it all lead up to.
Frank was the same.
He just had a hard time showing it.
They both pulled back, a string of spit connecting their mouths, and Gee smiled, that amazing smile that made Frank melt.
"I- I love you, Frankie," She turned a pale pink and Frank grinned down at her.
"I love you too, Gee."
"Always?"
"Yeah. Yeah, always."
