  Angelica's pov

'The virus has now spread through the country. We advise you to have enough food and water for a quantity of weeks. Stay indoors at all times. Do not leave your home. Stay away from the infected and do not let them bite or scratch you.'

"Christ." I muttered. My daughter sat next to me. She was only ten. "M-mom what do they mean?"

"Honey go upstairs pack some clothes and necessities. I will get weapons and food and water. Go ahead." I urged her upstairs. She nodded and went to pack everything. I ran into the kitchen and threw any food that couldn't expire into a bag. I grabbed about 20 gallons of water in liters and ran downstairs to the basement. I grabbed my throwing knifes, my crossbow, my snares and bolts for my arrows, and ran upstairs.
I looked into the street. The infected roamed free, feasting on the living. It was the most horrific sight. I pulled my daughter close as we left the only home we ever knew to venture into the woods. But one thing was for sure.

This was not lasting a couple of weeks.

Four years into the apocalypse..
"Sum' bitch!" My daughter yelled angrily. She reminds me of her daddy everyday. "Can't believe this asshole ate our deer! We been trackin' 'im for miles ma!"  "I know honey I know, watch yer' mouth please!"

We wandered further into the woods when I saw a prison. I stopped dead in my tracks and put my arm out so my daughter couldn't walk any further. There were cars and...people. We haven't seen people since the world went to shit. Ally ran ahead of me, running to the gates. "ALLY!" I hissed. People approached the gate when the saw her coming. I readied my crossbow and walked foward to greet the new people we saw. And that's when a gunshot went off, and I fell to the ground with a burning pain shooting through my shoulder.
