Angelica's pov

"D..Dar?"

Ally stiffened before throwing her arms around me, sobbing softly. I threw my arms around her, tears slowly brimming my eyes.

"Carol.. She's ok right?" I questioned frantically. I went to get up but was quickly pushed back down by Daryl.
He chuckled slightly. "She's fine Angel. Practically sitting on your death bed worried about someone other then your damn self. You're really somethin' else."

I mustered a small smile. "Hershel!" Ally called. The old man rushed in. He smiled. "How are you feeling Angelica?"

"I'm great. See your doing great on your crutches!" I smiled brightly.

He gave a small smile before helping me out of bed, handing me a glass of water. "We have people you want to meet. Prisoners we found." I nodded slightly. The one person I saw standing next to the man that called himself Thomas made me want to cry. I slowly stumbled back as I saw the sick smile on his face. The same smile he had on when he would burn me with the end of his cigar, the same smile his horrid face would have when he whipped me with his belt, or even worse when he would take off his belt for.. Other things.

My father.

Daryl knew about my father, but had never met him.

"Hello Angelica. Gonna come here and give your old man a hug?" He smirked. I felt Daryl tense next to me. "That's the bastard?" Daryl growled in my ear. I nodded slowly. "Come here Angelica."

"N-no." I whispered quietly.

"Angelica, come!" He said sternly. I dropped my head down and began walking forward, knowing better than to go against him. Daryls arm soon wrapped around my wrist, making sparks shoot through my stomach.

"She ain't goin anywhere with you." He growled. Rick stepped forward, seeming to put the pieces together. "Daryl get her outta here." Rick said slowly.
I felt myself being dragged slowly. Once I got to my cell I sat there, feeling small. Daryl gripped my chin gently, making me make eye contact.

"He ain't gonna hurt you, not when I'm here, sure as hell never again." He said gently. I looked between his signature Dixon eyes and his chapped pink lips. Daryl did the same before gently pressing his lips to mine. I felt my whole body vibrate with sparks. I reluctantly pulled back.

"Ya feel 'at to?" He asked quietly. I smiled. "Yea..I did." And with that he slowly gripped my hand, causing me to forget about the scars he put on my heart, because the man that put the scars on my light skin was standing outside.

Carl's pov

"So...that's your grandpa?" I asked Ally slowly. She hadn't left her cell since her mother left with Daryl. She nodded.

"H..he ever abuse your mother?" I asked quietly. She tensed before slowly nodding. I sat slowly next to her before wrapping my arms around her in a tight embrace. She began to sob quietly as I coed in her ear. "H-HES the reason my m-mom is so b-broken!" She exclaimed sadly. I felt my heart shatter nearly the girl I love say that.

Girl I love?

Girl I love!?

"A-Ally?"

"Yes?"
"He won't hurt you anymore, Daryl is going to take care of your mom and I'm, well I'm going to take care of you." She slowly pulled back before looking me straight in the eye. "Promise?" She asked, sounding broken. I slowly nodded.

"I promise." She crawled into my lap, resting her head on my shoulder before slowly falling asleep. Once she was asleep, I whispered,

"Because I love you."
