We arrived at one of the most popular bars around downtown. Quintilis was one of the bars that can somewhat keep up with the clubs/bars in the city. When we were young, we always thought of sneaking in but Gail and I were not brave enough to have a fake i.d. Now that we can freely get inside, a long line can be seen on the side of the bar. Although tonight, I'm sure as hell we're not going to line up.

"We're going inside Quintilis tonight?" Gail asked.

"Yup!" I answered.

"Didn't you see the line? We can never get in. It's packed especially because it's the weekend."

"Leave that to me girl." I snapped and winked at her.

We parked the car and walked towards the back entrance. The bouncer saw us coming and moved aside. I saw Gail, her eyes widened, "How did you just do that? The bouncer did not even think twice before he let us in." she asked. "You'll see later." I answered. We made our way in a sea of bodies. It was really full inside but I already reserved the last table at the corner for us.

"I'm speechless, Wren. I don't know how you did this but you're amazing!" Gail exclaimed.

"Well, can you tell me something I don't know?" I laughed. We sat and made ourselves cozy before ordering drinks. I was checking the place when I caught the person I was looking for. He was headed straight towards us. So I turn to Gail and said, "But if you really wanna know how I manage to do all that, then you should meet him." I motioned to the man walking towards our table. He was dashing as usual, lean, tall, and handsome without even trying too much. With rugged, brown hair that almost always looked like he just got out of bed and a laid back sense of fashion, he was really a looker.

"Ashton! Hi! How are you? " He kissed me on the cheek.

"Wren, nice seeing you here. I'm good. How 'bout you?" he asked.

"I'm having a blast here. Oh, I want you to meet my sister, Gail." I turned him to my sister.

"Hello, Gail. I'm Ashton by the way." he stretched out his hand. Gail took it and shook. "Hi, nice to meet you, Ashton."

"For your information sis, Ashton here is part owner of Quintilis. He is Michael's friend so we've met before." I said, smilingly.

"Really? Cool. Thank you for helping us get in." Gail told Ashton.

"Don't mention it. It's nothing, really. So uh, if you need anything just tell me." His phone vibrated and he looked at it and said,"Oh, I gotta go, I have to meet someone. Enjoy your night. " He showed his lopsided grin which was too cute not to notice. If Michael could read my thoughts, I'm sure I'd be dead now.

"He's cute, right?" I asked Gail after Ashton walked away.

"You have  a husband and two kids, Wren." Gail said.

"Uhm, wrong answer. Irrelevant." I shot back.

"Fine. Yes. He's cute. And he seems nice." she finally said. I was was planning on setting them up but I don't know how to do it because I know Gail doesn't like blind dates. I know this was far from an actual date but this would be the first step. I know for a fact that Ashton has no girlfriend and Gail was also free. Ashton could help Gail regain her life before everything turned upside down for her.

"I knew you would like him.You know, aside from this bar, he also has a recording studio in New York where he produce music as well." I added.

"I didn't say I like him. I just thought he's nice. You know what Wren, I can sense what you're trying to do here. You are trying to make me like him. Am I right?"

"And what's wrong with that? It's not like you are in a relationship or anything." Gail looked hurt with what I just said.

"Whatever, Wren. Thanks for reminding me that you have the perfect little life in Manhattan and I do not." She stood up and went away.

"Look, Gail that's not what I mean..." I trailed off and followed her but I lost her because of the crowd. I tried calling for her but in this place and this noise, it was impossible for her to hear me. I wanted to smack myself for my blabber mouth. I admit, it was stupid for me to say those things to her. I searched for Gail in the entire place but I couldn't find her.
