Well, look at me, updating so quickly! I didn't realize how much I missed writing about Jasper and Cassie! That's Cassie on the sidebar, btw

Ian quickly caught up to Jasper's black Audi R8 Spyder. I was momentarily distracted from the problem at hand by the sexy car.

"Damn, that is a sexy car," I exclaimed, craning my neck around to get a better look at it. "When did he get that car?"

"Doesn't matter, he won't have it for much longer," Ian muttered, his hands tightly clenching the steering wheel.

"Ian, you need to calm down. We can't do this right now," I cautioned him. He blew out a breath and tried to relax.

"Why are you obsessed with killing Cobalt's brother again?" Jo inquired from the back seat. She had regained her composure quickly after the airport had disappeared from sight.

"It's a long story," I informed her. "And Ian isn't going to do anything, especially now that we know Cassie is here." I said the last part with a warning glare at him. He stared straight ahead, slowing the mustang to match Jasper's speed. The black car ahead pulled off of the road and parked on the shoulder, next to a clearing ringed by forest.

"Here we go," I murmured to myself, getting out of the car. I leaned down and peered inside at Ian. "I'm serious man. No funny business."

Ian held up his hands. "I'm good, I've got it under control."

"Is anyone here actually scared of the attack dog?" Jo said sarcastically as she got out. I touched her shoulder and shook my head. This was a tense situation, and I didn't want Ian accidentally pushed off of the edge.

In front of us, Jasper got out of his car, wearing a black leather jacket similar to my own and looking at me with undecipherable black eyes. I stared back, knowing my own silver eyes were just as expressionless. We hadn't really seen each other since our parents' gruesome deaths. I talked to him fleetingly after defeating the rogue wolves a few months ago, but it was over and done with in a matter of seconds.

I felt Ian come up behind and to the side of me. I didn't need to look at him to know he was staring Jasper down with hate. Jasper ignored Ian, focusing on me. He looked completely calm, but I could see the subtle tensing of his body and his clenched fists. Ian's hostility was palpable, making the air thick.

"Cobalt," Jasper nodded.

Before I could answer, I sensed Jo come up behind me. "Well, aren't you all just relaxed and calm as can be?" she rolled her eyes, pushing past me roughly.

I grabbed her arm and looked down at her, warning her to take it easy. Jasper didn't know about her  special abilities yet, and I wanted to make sure that she didn't cause the situation to blow up. We needed Jasper, but he was edgy with Cassie here, even though she was safely confined in the car. If he sensed that Jo was different, he might have second thoughts.

At that moment, a gust of wind blew from behind us. I closed my eyes, knowing that the game was up. Jasper's black eyes dilated as he caught Jo's and Ian's scents. I could read his shocked expression. "My brother is keeping company with a wolf, and who knows what the hell the girl is?"

"What the hell is this?" he snarled, his dark gaze settling on Jo. She boldly returned his glower, though I saw her quick half-step back at the intensity of his look.

"It's not what you think," I began hastily. I didn't know exactly what he thought was going on, but when a scent was as jacked up as Jo's, it could be alarming. Especially with a hostile wolf growling at him and his mate in the car.
