Comatus had found me. I may not have wanted to find him, but it seemed like he made the rules here. I flew through the air. There was a splintering sound as the entire front wall of the cabin disintegrated. The shrapnel was now flying towards me with such velocity that it should have killed me right there. I saw my sword go flying past, in one piece. But what I saw next disheartened me beyond anything else. That beautiful bow, now was only peices of wood hed together by a string. I landed hard on the snow. Jon landed about 10 feet away from me. He made a sound like the air rushing out of a ballon when he hit. I must not have sounded much better. Next thing I knew, There was some screaming.

I Lookead around rapidly only to see Cecelia fleeing in the wake of a giant bear. Comatus it was indeed. I looked in the snow near the bear. There was my sword. I needed that in order to have any hope in fighting this thing. My sheild then flew at me and I ducked. It flew so fast that it got wedged in the trunk of a tree. I looked at the shield. Something clicked in my head. I attempted to stand, but fell down. My leg was killing me. I could not even stand. In blind fury and fear, I took up my stance again. I took one step towards the shield. Cecelia shrieked. This was no time for me to be slow or weak. Jon was just coming around on his snow bank. It was only uo to me.

I reached out and pulled the sheild from the trunk of the tree. My leg wailed in pain as I marched slowly to cut the mighty bear off. Suddenly, he tilted his head back and roared. Cecelia went flying once more. So did i, but the sheild did something. It blocked some of it. Love and Spirit were coming to my aid as I felt the strength suddenly surge through my body. I charged Comatus. Love and Spirit were joined by Hope and Wisdom. Now all 5 of us attacked the bear. My sheild made contact with his head. I had expected it to give in. All he did was shake his face like a fly had landed on his nose. Then his attention was turned on me. Perfect. I turned to Wisdom and asked "What was step two?"

Comatus swung at us and growled. I leapt out of the way, using my sheild to bounce off the snow as I rolled. My sword was not behind Comatus. I had to react faster. Then a crazy Idea hit me. I yelled "Jon, throw something at him!"

"Are you insane?" He replied as he reached for a weapon of some sort.

"Was there ever a question?" I asked in response. I dodged and weaved in between Comatus' blows, Suddenly, I heard a whirring noise and backed up. A large piece of log shrapnel came flying through the air, like a spear taking a nosedive. It landed against his head with a loud CLONCK!

The bear reacted as I thought he would. He reared his head and glared at Jon. Comatus was startled just enough where he stopped moving. And it was then that I started moving. I charged the bear and stretched out with my sheild on my back like a sled. Time slowed down. Comatus reacted, but not fast enough. I slid underneath his mighty body just as his his paw made the snow explode where I just was. He uttered a cunfused grunt. He reared on his hind legs and turned to face me just as my hands gripped the handle of my sword.

It was still in it's sheath. My sheild was still on my back. And here I was faced with my worst enemy. I stared into the dark holes that were his eyes. All light seemed to be sucked into them. Fear gripped my like I gripped my sword. I knew I probably would not be able to pull any more stunts. I knew that I would not get my sword out in time. So I did the natural thing. I straightened and placed the sword back on the ground.

Comatus looked confusef, but then that changed to cold murder in his eyes. "Any time, guys." I thought. Right on cue, Love took a nice sized peice of flesh and fur into his mouth and clamped down for all he was worth. Spirit was not far behind, going straight for the neck, but missing and hitting the shoulder. Hope latched on to his theigh. Wisdom then slowly apporached and with a startlingly angered growl lept towards the bear and clamped onto his neck.

The think that scared me before I joined the fight was how little effect it had on him. He seemed annoyed. As if these mighty dogs were just a hinderance. I leaned forward and fell to the ground, but took to a roll the moment my shoulder touched snow. My shield was on my arm and my sword unleashed from it's binding sheath.

Comatus looked at me, as if annoyed, then simply shook his fur, like a wet dog, sending my dogs flying like an arrow from a bow. That filled me with rage. Now, not only had he taken away my home, he had hurt my friends. He could not, and would not do that, EVER AGAIN. I raised my sheild and glared at him. Pounding my sword to the metal part of my sheild, I shouted "For death and glory!" And charged him.

He reacted just as I thought he would. He lifted his mighty head back and roared. I raised my sheild and it absorbed some of the force, but still thudded against my chest causeing me to temporarily loose my breath. I glared into Comatus' dark sockets. There were no eyes there. Eyes were for something that was alive. This thing was not alive. It was only the end, the darkness.

I imagined that my eyes were on fire with rage. Spirit and Wisdom took their places next to me. Their hair was arched on their backs. Their ears flattened against their skulls. Both of them were utterly pissed. Their lips curled into angered growls. I found myself doing the same. Glaring, growling. Comatus was no match for all of us. Or so I thought.

Love and Hope were gathering Cecelai and Jon. They stood a ways off. Cecelia was shaken up and Jon was placing himself in between the two of us. He said something to her. She shook her head and looked sad. Frustrated even. I made eye contact with her. She mouthed, "I am so sorry." Then she and Jon disintegrated into the snow leaving me with Comatus.

I turned back to my enemy. He looked down at us as if we were an annoyance, however the sight of my sword seemed to annoy him. Love and Hope took their places around me. I glared at Comatus and raised my sword. For the first time, I actually taunted him. I regretted it later.

Suddenly, eight wolves leaped out into the clearing. "Of course!" I said "How stupid am I?". Now he had backup, Comatus relaxed a little. He knew he could win. I think that he knew that there were far more wolves out there that would help him. Then He did something that I never expected. He spoke.

His mouth didn't move, yet I heard him clearly. "Greetings, he whom I plague." I was stupified. I had never even considered it possible. His voice sounded like a steel knife scraping against a chalk board, slowly cutting it in half. I shivered. This voice was pure evil.

"How can you talk to me? You are but a bear."

"How naive." He said," I had expected better from you. Yet again you disapoint. I am PART if you. like it or not, all of us are." He seemed to nod at the other wolves there. " All of us are part of you. Some more powerful than others. You have no chance of fighting. You must know this."

"You and I obviously see things very differently." I retorted. It was true though. I was now outnumbered. Even with the dogs, it would have been a greatly perilous undertaking. Now, we stood no chance. I had hoped he would not call my bluff.

"Ahhhh......" He sighed in my head, "Obstinate as ever. Everyone in your life knows you are like this. I wonder what Cecelia thinks." He said, pointedly.

I had had evough. That was the last and final straw. "You touch anyone, I will kill you. There will be no crevace where I cannot find you." And with that, the negotiations concluded. And all hell broke lose.
