Lewis woke at Ridge’s feet. He glared at him.
“What did you do to her?” He smirked.
“Nothing, I wouldn’t do anything.” He lied. He bit into an apple. Lewis got up and went to walk past the tree line. Ridge grabbed the fabric of his jacket. “No, not yet.”
“Where are we?”
“In the little wood.” Ridge laughed at his own joke. Lewis turned and glared at him.
“Martyn has no bother with anyone, you can’t do this. He wouldn’t hurt a fly.” Lewis moved closer to Ridge. Ridge was pushed back until his back was pressed up against a tree. Ridge could feel Lewis’ anger as he was pressed against the tree. “You can’t do this. You just can’t.”
“What if I don’t care?” Ridge asked smirking. Lewis stood firmly in front of Ridge. The tension was rising. Martyn had seen them stood by the tree. He coughed.
“Am I interrupting something?” Martyn said grinning. Ridge’s head turned quickly. He pushed Lewis back and walked over to Martyn. Ridge was around a foot taller than Martyn.
“No, you’re just in time.” Ridge smiled. Lewis walked out from the trees and stood in front of Martyn. “Move now.” Ridge said firmly, Lewis shook his head and clenched his fists. Martyn backed away a little.
“You can’t hurt Martyn.” Ridge’s eyes filled with anger. Ridge swung his arm, his fist connecting with Lewis’ face. Lewis fell to the floor, groaning in pain. Ridge picked Lewis up.
“You will now burn the forest.” Lewis looked at Ridge. “DO IT!” Lewis took the flint and steel. Ridge walked into Martyn’s base. “Martyn, come out.” Ridge slowly walked to the back room and found Martyn hugging a boy in a Hoodie. “Who’s this then?” Ridge grabbed the hooded boy and dragged him from Martyn’s arms.
“No! Toby!” Martyn went to grab him but Ridge pulled him from his grasp. “Don’t you dare hurt my brother.”
“Oh, Toby is it? Well let’s see, does Toby want to play a game?” Toby whimpered. “Ok, let’s go.” Ridge dragged Toby outside. Lewis saw them.
“Who’s that?” Ridge smiled.
“This is Toby, Martyn’s brother. I do believe no one has met him before.” Ridge threw him to the floor. He whimpered as he hit the floor. Lewis had started a small fire behind a few trees. “Did you do it?” Lewis looked at the floor. “Good.” Martyn was stood at the door of the base. “Grab him.” Lewis walked over to Martyn. He grabbed him.
“I promise I won’t let him hurt you.” Lewis whispered in his ear. Martyn shook his head.
“Just don’t let him hurt Toby.” Lewis looked at Toby. He was curled up on the floor with Ridge looking down at him. Lewis pushed Martyn to the floor, he landed by Toby. Toby whimpered again and moved closer to Martyn. “Don’t worry Toby. I’m here.” Toby cried into Martyn’s chest. “I won’t let him hurt you.” Martyn rubbed Toby’s back and shushed him. Lewis looked at them. The brothers, lying next to each other, the older one taking care of the youngling. They didn’t look like each other. Lewis pitied them, he had to stop Ridge. Ridge opened his bag and began searching for a weapon, Lewis grabbed a rock.
“Lewis have you seen my e-” Ridge was cut off by Lewis. Lewis had hit him over the head with a rock, even a demi-god couldn’t stand that. Ridge fell to the floor and almost landed on Toby.
“I told you I wouldn’t let him hurt you.” Lewis smiled tossing the rock in his hand. Martyn got up.
“Thank you so much.” Martyn carried Toby into the base and laid him on the bed while Lewis dragged Ridge from the area. Ridge woke up without warning and flipped Lewis over, sitting on his back.
“Don’t you dare try that again.” Lewis squirmed underneath Ridge. “Now for someone, I know you’ll love.” Ridge tied Lewis’ arms behind his back and pushed him towards Honeydew Inc. Lewis saw the marble walls as Ridge forced him to the floor.
“Not here. Not him. Please.” Lewis tried to get his arms free but couldn’t.
“The only way to teach you a lesson is to take your friend away.” Ridge walked into the factory and dragged Simon out in front of Lewis. Lewis looked away. “You will watch this.”
“Lewis what’s going on?” Simon looked at Lewis for answers.
“I’m sorry Simon...” Lewis whispered as Ridge held Simon down. Ridge looked to Lewis.
“Oh no you don’t.” Ridge forced Lewis to look. Simon was stood there looking at his friend on the floor.
“Lewis, what’s wrong?” Simon went to untie Lewis, Ridge stopped him. “Let me help him.”
“Ok.” Ridge pushed Simon to the floor and pulled out a dagger. “You can help him in so many ways.” Ridge forced the dagger into Simon’s arm. Lewis cried into the grass. Ridge pulled the dagger down his arm, making Simon scream.
“STOP! STOP IT!” Lewis screamed at Ridge. “Stop... please...” Lewis was in tears.
“Did I do something wrong? Did I cut him in the wrong place?” Ridge moved the dagger to over Simon’s heart.
“NO! STOP PLEASE!” Lewis was screaming and crying. “Just don’t hurt him.” The colour had drained from Simon’s face. Lewis looked at him. “I’m so sorry...” Simon blinked and shook his head.
“Well this wasn’t that much fun. Let’s try this.” Ridge stabbed Simon in his heart. Lewis lost it. He shook with sobs. Ridge got up and freed Lewis. “Call me when you’ve made up your mind. I can’t have you going backwards and forwards.” Ridge pushed off into the sky and disappeared from view. Lewis scrabbled over to Simon.
“Simon... I’m so sorry.” Lewis tried to heal the wound. “I can’t do anything.” Simon waved him away. “No, I need to help you.”
“Lewis let me go. Just let me go. There are pigus waiting for me.” He laughed, coughing up blood. “Let me see the pigus...” Simon started to cry. “Hey, remember when we sang morning songs? Ran from zombies? Played with Creepers? You putting out all my fire? You were giving me TNT when it was needed.” Lewis nodded.
“I remember.” Lewis cried again. “Simon do you remember when you found me? I knew from that moment I would be your friend forever.” Simon smiled and closed his eyes. Lewis held his hand until he stopped breathing. Lewis broke down over Simon’s body. His tears soaked Simon’s top. Lewis got up and staggered a few feet away. He fell onto the floor. He curled up into a ball and cried. “Simon, I need you.” Duncan appeared a few hours later and saw the scene. He stared at Simon for a while then saw Lewis. He ran over.
“Lewis, please don’t be dead.” Duncan picked Lewis up and placed him onto a bed. “Lewis? Lewis?” Duncan began to cry. “Ok... well goodbye.” Duncan got up and felt his hand being grabbed. He turned and Lewis was lay there, tears streaming down his face. “Lewis...” Lewis smiled and pulled Duncan into a hug.
“Simon’s gone.”
“I know.” Duncan hugged Lewis. “I know.
