Lilith's POV
After finishing my Prefect duties, I run to find my friends. I see Harry taking to Ron outside one of the compartments, so the rest fm the group is probably inside. But Harry's words to Ron make my stomach burn with anger.
"Guess what? Malfoy was sitting in his compartment with the other Slytherins when he was supposed to be patrolling the train. I saw his as I walked by with my partner."
That is very suspicious, Malfoy is always trying to show people how important he is, why wouldn't he take this opportunity?
"Did he see you?" I ask, stepping next to them. They jump with the sound of my voice and Harry puts his arm around my shoulder, kissing my cheek.
"Hey sis. Haven't seen you in a while."
"Yeah, I was a little busy with these Perfect shit and all." I smile. "Don't tell anyone I said this. Now back to the previous subject, did he see you?"
"Yeah." Ron nods his head and looks at Harry for support. You're not escaping this one, pal.
"What did he say?"
"The usual. But he wasn't being the Malfoy we know, he seemed a little sad, I think. Well, he looked sad. Maybe that's the reason why he wasn't tormenting first years." Ron says and I rub my arms. Why am I feeling guilty? I shouldn't be feeling this, I don't know the guys and I did nothing to make him feel sad. So snap out of it, Lilith.
"What the heck is wrong with Malfoy these days?" Harry mutters, grabbing me by the shoulders and opening the door. We enter and are greeted by Hermione, Luna and Neville.
"Hey guys!" I greet and they all give me tight hugs and happy smiles.
Hermione, who heard Harry's question grabs my hand and makes me sit next to her. She's giving Harry her 'I'm worried about you but I'm not asking anything' look.
"Maybe he preferred the Inquisitorial Squad." Hermione says. "Maybe being a prefect seems a bit tame after that."
I'm about to answer and tell them my absurd theories when the door slides open again and a small third year girl steps in. She's scarring three scrolls of patch, net in her hands and looks around the room, like she's trying to find someone.
"I'm supposed to deliver these to Neville Longbottom, Harry P-Potter and Lilith Potter." She stutters and as her eyes meet Harry's, she turns a very dark shade of red. Poor girl, looks like someone has a crush on little baby Harry.
The two boys take their papers and the girl looks at me, handing me the parchment with my name on it. The rest if the group smiles at the girl and she leaves us. As the door closes, I feel every breath on me, Harry and Neville.
"What is it?" Ron demands.
"An invitation." Harry answers at the same time as Neville. I just stare at the name of the teacher. Slughorn.
I would be delighted if you would join me for a bite of lunch in compartment C.
Sincerely."But what does he want me for?" Neville asks nervously.
"Hey, you're an amazing wizard, and I see that he recognizes it." I wink at him and he blushes under my gaze.
"Nope, that not it." Neville denies and shakes his head. I let it go, knowing that I'll never be able to make him see how good he really is.
Harry Neville and I say our goodbyes and head outbid the room, starting our amazing tour to find compartment C. Whatever that means.
If we could use the damn Cloak, we could have avoided all those stares and whispers. I think I hear Malfoy's name but I'm not sure so I don't do anything. But Harry and envied heard it to because they glance at me and ask me if everything is alright.
