Lilith's POV
The lake house is very homey and comfortable, but I know I can't get used to it. Draco and I have been here for two weeks now and Narcissa hasn't said anything yet. Draco's nervous for his mother but we know nothing wrong happened to her, or the news would spread like little spiders.
Another year at Hogwarts awaits us, but we don't know it we should go. Narcissa absence is starting to grow on Draco, who's spends hours walking around the empty rooms.
The house isn't too big, but it isn't small either. It has two bedrooms, two baths, a big kitchen and a comfortable sitting room. It's a one story building near a beautiful lake, but Draco doesn't want me to go outside. I haven't felt the sun on my skin since we left the Mansion. And I'm sick of this life, not knowing what's about to happen.
"Lilith."
I turn and Draco is behind me, his eyes tired as always. But that's not what surprises me. He has his arms around a box, a letter on top of it. It's big and has Hogwarts' symbol on top of it.
"This arrived a few minutes ago. It has your name on it."
He kneels beside me and rests his hands on the couch as he waits for me to open them. I start with the letter.
Dear Lilith Potter,
I, Severus Snape, as the new Hogwarts School for Witchcraft and Wizardry's Headmaster, want you to occupy the new spot as an assistance for the Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher. I know you haven't finished your education here at Hogwarts but we need someone to help Amycus Carrow with this important task.
And I believe you're more than perfect for the job. So please, come to the school as soon as you read this letter.
Attached to this piece of paper is a letter from your mother-in-law, Narcissa Malfoy, and a box with everything you need to become Amycus's assistance.
Hope to see you soon, my dear. Don't let Draco know about this.
Severus Snape
As I finish, I close the letter and open the box. There are no letters to help me figure out what this is all about. I find a black cloak and a new wand case, all made of the most expensive leather. Trust me, I know. There's also a small pocket watch and a tight black dress, probably Amycus's choice.
I met him once when the Death Eaters decided to gather around the Mansion. He's not the nicest guy I've met, but he's definitely not the worst. Bruno is the worst, for sure. He keeps on bragging about how good he was when he caught me and brought me to them.
And Draco and I just wanted to punch the living heck out of him.
But aside from that, everyone was nice to me. They accepted me as an equal, all of us Death Eaters and fighting for the same thing. But what they didn't know was that I wasn't and I'm not fighting with them. I only want my old life back.
"Lilith..." Draco whispers by my side. "What does it say? And what is that box for?
"Just a letter from Severus and some gifts, but here's your mother's letter." I hand him the letter and he tears it open.
