A week later-
Aaliyah's Point of View:
Thanks to my brother, I've moved schools, and since then, things have calmed down significantly. I have new friends who genuinely care for me, all thanks to Neel. My brother transferred me to a British-American school where I feel more comfortable being myself. I love being able to wear my own clothes too.But Alisha... I miss her a little. I know she did some horrible things to me, but I can't help but feel that she doesn't truly hate me. Still she did so much damage—I was nearly killed, and I ended up homeless, all because of her. If it weren't for Neel, who knows where I'd be? I have every right to be mad at her. Alisha shouldn't ever find out that Neel and I are best friends; it would just fuel her jealousy. I can't talk to her anyway. The scars are still there.
Alisha's Point of View:
Everything is changing, and I hate it. Why is everything shifting so quickly? I know this is all my fault, and while I can't change the past, I wish I could. Deep down, I'm hurt and feel incredibly guilty. I've been keeping to myself lately since things have been weird at home. I only go downstairs to eat. To make matters worse, I'm kinda grounded, so I can't go out properly—just to school.Suddenly, Bhai walked into my room.
"What?" I asked, irritated.
"You need to come downstairs. You're going to be late for school." Bhai replied.
"Okay, whatever," I said, getting up with my school bag and pushing him out of my room. I walked towards the front door and opened it, only to find Shehry and Adil about to ring the doorbell.
"Hi, Alisha." Shehry said.
"What are you two doing here?" I asked, stepping outside and closing the door behind me.
"We're sorry." Adil said.
"For what? I should be the one apologising." I replied.
"But we know you didn't do it on purpose, and you were slightly pressurised." Shehry said.
"And you look guilty." Adil added as we walked towards the bus stop.
"Aaliyah wouldn't want us to stay mad at you for too long, right?" Shehry asked.
"Are we forgiven?" Adil chimed in.
"Yeah, sure, whatever." I replied, feeling indifferent.
"There's a ball coming up next weekend, hosted by Aaliyah's brother. Are you coming?" Shehry asked as we crossed the road.
"I can't I'm grounded." I said.
"We'll fix that." Adil said.
"How?" I asked.
"A plan." Lily said, popping up from behind us. Why do they care so much after everything I've done?
Aaliyah's Point of View:
I ran out of the house, racing towards the bus, but I missed it just as it was pulling away. And then I spotted her—Becky. The girl who had ruined my life alongside Alisha. Was she planning something? No, yes, maybe? I decided to avoid her and take a detour to school."Hey!" Joy greeted me as I entered the building. Joy is a friend of mine at this new school. My other friends include Cass, Ty, Rideon, Kayla, and Selena. They are genuinely the nicest people I've ever met.
"All the teachers are in a meeting for the next hour, so we have an extra hour of break. Let's sit at the bench over there." Kayla suggested. As we settled down, my phone buzzed with a text from Neel.
Neel: There's a party next weekend hosted by your brother. Wanna come? I'm sure it'll cheer you up :)
Me: Sure, why not? :)
