I used to believe in fairy tales. Cinderella, Aurora, and Ariel used to be my idols. Now I know that they aren't real. My daddy used to say," There will be a new princess one day. Isabella, Princess of Los Angeles. Isabella you will achieve great things, no matter what happens. My little bell." That's what Daddy called me, his little bell. He knew he was going to die. A few weeks after he said that, the cancer took over his body. I was only 9. It happened 7 years ago and I can still hear my father say," I won't be far Bell. Don't shed a tear for me because I will always be with you. I promise."

Then my step-witch took me out of the room. That was the last time I ever saw Daddy. He promised he would always be with me. I know that he is keeping that promise, but it doesn't feel like it now-a-days.

I returned to school the next day. It was shocking. No one laughed, they all wondered if I was okay. I met the new kid today too. Fortunately, he didn't see me. He had come the period after my little episode. I didn't like him very much. He had that whole "too cool for school" attitude. He was hot, hardcore abs, lush blonde hair, and a smile that could kill. He was a real Casanova. Griffin, Griffin Armstrong. His last name definitely described his bicepts. I wouldn't fall for him, though. Every girl in school already had.

"Hey. I haven't seen you around before. What's your name babe?"

"Ugh. Why don't you hit on someone who cares?"

Oh my god. He shoved me up against a locker. Ours bodies were so close. I could feel the heat rising. I had to think. I was not going to let him play me. Play hard to get. That's my plan.

"I think you care. You, me, dinner, 8 o'clock."

"No thanks, I have plans."

"I'm not giving up"

"You won't get anywhere I can promise you that"

"We'll see"

What did he mean we'll see. I have to stay away from him. I know if I'm near him too much I will fall for him. I have to be careful, he is dangerous, toxic. And I've seen his type before.

At lunch I sat with Katrina, Jake, Stephanie, Jason, and Tyler.

" Hey! Jason get your hands out of my food." I yelled as Jason started snacking on my fries.

"Hey, a guy has gotta eat too."

"Try the food on your tray."

"Oh so have you picked out your gown yet? Mine is baby blue with silver sparkles." Katrina asked while cramming food in her face. I never understood how that tiny girl could eat so much and not put any weight on. It blew my mind.

"Oh crap, I forgot Prom is next week. I don't even have a date. Do you want to come and buy my dress with me today? It's at a boutique up in Hollywood. It's a hot pink gown with aquamarine gems on it. It matches my room! It took me months to find it."

"Sure I'd love to come. It sounds gorgeous. Can i recomend silver steletos to match?"

"I already have that covered"

"Hey can I come too? I still have to buy my dress." Stephanie asked. I should have asked her too. I feel like we always leave her out.

"Yeah of course!"

After lunch Jake stopped me at my locker.

"Hey I was... um... wondering if .....you.... wanted to ...uhh. go to Prom with me?"

" Oh, Jake! Thank you so much for asking me. I would love too."

Then I gave him a little kiss on his cheek. I always knew how to wrap boys around my finger. It was easy. Follow one simple rule: Always leave them wanting more. Which when I think about it, that's what I did with Griffin earlier today. DANGER, DANGER! GRIFFIN ALERT!!!
