Reunited

Chapter 1

Hey guys so i wrote this book a couple years ago and and showed a couple friends and got feedback from them but i would love your opinions on it. I hope you like it and i haven't really edited it so i apologize in advance for mistakes. Enjoy!
   

Amanda Johnson and her dad Daniel were like two peas in a pod. Having lost her mother when she was born Amanda had to deal with having only one parent. They lived in California and  they owned a house right on the water. They were out in the water all the time, any spare time they would run out to the water. The bond between them grew over the years and when her dad had to work it was hard to watch her dad leave. Before he would go though he would say I love you till infinity runs out and then he would kiss her forehead and leave.  Daniel was a grade four teacher and he totally loves his job and teaching kids. All day though all he could think about was his daughter, he would call her while he was on break in the teachers' lounge then again at lunch. All the other teachers were blown away by their relationship and how they could manage to talk about things for forty five minutes without any long pauses. Then on the weekend Amanda woke up, walked to the living room and saw her dad packing things into boxes. "Do you not like that stuff anymore daddy?" Amanda asked knowing when things got put in boxes they were things they didn't want anymore.

"No, no sweetheart um... you now I think it's time we moved somewhere else."

"Why? I like it here."

"I know baby but it's time to move, daddy's job is sending him away so I have no choice."

Thinking about what he just said Amanda agreed to moving but she asked "Do I get to bring all my things?"

Chuckling Daniel said "Of course you can, everything you have you are bringing. Nothing gets left behind."

By Tuesday they were on the road followed by the U-Haul truck heading to New Jersey; a house right on the beach and all the way across the country from their last one. Once they got there Amanda was excited about going out and exploring the area. Her dad said that she had to unpack her things before she could go out so she put everything where she wanted it and told the movers where to put things in her room and Daniel was glad that they did. Daniel then brought the last box in after paying the movers and then started unpacking things he would need that day starting with the kitchen things. He stopped a few times to go check in on Amanda but every time he did he found her unpacking her things and placing them in the spot she wanted it to be in. A few hours later and Amanda walks into the kitchen and Daniel looks up and says "Hey kiddo, you done unpacking?"

"No... daddy I'm hungry."

He then looked at his watch and realized it was six thirty and she would be hungry. "Well lets go fix that, let's go get a burger or something."

"Ok." She said with a smile on her face.

Daniel looked down at his daughter with love in his eyes and thinking about how lucky he is with a daughter like her. "Ok go get your shoes on ok."

She then ran to the door and slipped her pink sandals on and fastened the Velcro on the side. Daniel slipped his flip flops on before grabbing his daughter and flinging her over his shoulder with her giggling. "Daddy put me down," she said giggling at the same time.

"Why, I like you up there." He said before shifting her down but still holding her.

She looked into his eyes and said "I love you daddy."

Daniel smiled and said "I love you too honey."

They then went to a diner and shared a burger and fries together before going back home and watching T.V for a couple hours before Amanda had to go to bed. "Hey," Daniel said to the almost asleep Amanda "It's time to go to bed Amanda."
