Reunited

Chapter 3

Ever since Amanda's dad died the rest of her childhood was pretty bad.  She could care less about friends so she spent most of her time alone righting Jacks name on every sheet of paper she had. She would have inner monologues of her having conversations with him and she would constantly look at the pictures of him and her, then at the one of her dad remembering all the good times they had. As the years went on she bounced around foster homes after they realized that they would never get close to her. They gave up on her and Amanda was used to it after the few foster homes she was in. She hated being called Mandy. It was her cover though and remembering that her dad said, she could still be in danger. Mandy was her cover for who she really was. When she was in high school, grade nine to be exact, she started to make friends with this techy guy that was a total nerd but was a wiz in computers. He could hack into any server he wanted, find any information on anybody, and alter things normal people would have no idea how to. He taught her everything she needed to know and was really good at everything people really shouldn't do. She would then go and hack into photos of Jack and she was surprised at how many she found. He looked so different when he became a teenager, she hardly recognised him. He still lived in New Jersey and wondered if her foster parents will take her. She then thought about it and realized she had no idea what she would say to him and really thinking about it she knew her foster parents wouldn't take her. Amanda thought it was best to just leave it. It had been years since she had seen or heard from Jack and she worried that he had moved on with his life. She would except that though because she didn't do anything to keep him for herself so it would basically her fault. So she just took pictures off of his Facebook and stored them on her computer to be able to see him and just stare at his picture. She then hacked into one of the newspapers archives and found every single article on her father's killing and found out who was following him. It was a gang from California led by this weird named guy, she then started following his gangs moves and made sure that they stayed far away from her. She then realized that after her dad's death they totally turned their backs on it and kept on doing whatever they did. Despite how many times she moved to different schools and homes she still kept really good grades. She started working as an office assistant during summer breaks, winter breaks and any other times she could. The lady she worked with loved her and how she organized everything so well and could do basically anything on the computer that she needed. Amanda could wait to turn 18 and be out of this foster care system. She hated it, but someone had to look after her and she had no other family. That wasn't really true though because Jack and his dad were her family at least that's what she thought. The day she turned 18 thought she moved to DC and worked in marketing for a fitness company. She had her identity changed back to Amanda Johnson but changed the name to Mandy Summers but she was legally Amanda. A couple years later she couldn't wait anymore, she needed to find Jack.  To make sure he was ok, and if her was happy or not.  She went home after a long day at work and started hacking away. She found his driver's licence online and hacked further and to find out he moved to New York. His driver's licence picture liked really bad and she just hated them and how they made you look totally opposite of what you really look like. She couldn't make out what he really looked like and there were no updated photo of him. she spent a couple of hours later she figured out where he lived and where he worked. He worked in the marketing department at a sports company. She found it weird how they both went into marketing but she was happy that they had something in common. She then decided to go to New York, she applied to the same company and gave her notice at her job. They sent a really good recommendation letter to the sports company and she found out that her old job would pretty close with this company giving them protein powder for people in athletics. They put a good word in and she had an interview that she went to. She showed them all her strengths and things she could do, she told them that she was a fast learner and liked a challenge. "Well Mandy you are definitely qualified for this job but I have to ask what you will do if you are doing something and realize you dint know how to do it?" Her boss asked.
