The egg split in two and a smallish blue head popped out. Its soft blue scales glinted in the light and its green eyes shone. I reach out to touch it and when I make contact I forgot about everything. Hello, a voice in my head said, Look at your hand. And I did. what I saw frightened me beyond measure.

A faint blue, pretty much purple colour because of my skin, had appeared. And it was glowing. When it glows means danger, the voice in my head said. Correct about that, I thought. I am a dragon, said the voice, but you need to give me a name. Also don't forget you're driving a motor waggon.

I look up and swerve to avoid the edge of a cliff. Is there anything you can do?, I thought. The Dragon emerges fully out of the egg. It stretches large wings for a dragon of his size and flaps them testly. I will see what I can do.  I glance at the dragon for a brief second before turning back to the road.

I hear a whoosh of wind and as I glanced out of the side mirror I saw a flash of blue sweep over the black car and disarm the man with the weapon. I swerve in front of the black car. I hear a screeching sound as they swerve to avoid. I swerve with them and drive them into the forest. I hear the whoosh and thud and am led to believe that the blue dragon is safely back in the car.I pull over at the next petrol station and call 000. I hope it isn't too late for dad.

I sit in the hallway with the glass panels staring at dad and the same room I was 'asleep' in. I feel a tear roll down my cheek. I could feel a mind connected with mine, comforting me. I had told everyone the truth, well all of it except the baby dragon. For that I said "and the gun slipped from the man's fingers and onto the road".

I start to get drowsy when a rush of commotion gets my attention. I look through the window to see a large group of doctors rush into the room and surround dad. A lady comes up to me and says it is time to go. She smiles but it doesn't reach her eyes. "Something is wrong isn't it?" I ask her. "Nothing we can't fix," she replies dryly.

I pace around my bedroom anxious about dad. I try to take slow breaths and listen for the phone. Sammy is at a friends place and mum is going to pick her up. I had let the baby dragon into the house to keep me company. He was sitting on the window sill, his soft blue scales flashing in the sunlight. We will be fine, the baby dragon said.

So what about that name of mine?  the blue dragon asks. "Let's see," I say. That's a horrible name, the dragon complained. I laugh. "It's not a name, people say that when they are thinking, well sometimes when they are thinking". Oh. "what about blue?" I ask. No. I don't like it. It sounds sad, the dragon said. "Okay then what about....," I think for a second, "Chase." Love it, he roars.

I hear a car pull up outside. "Quick" I whisper and open the window. Chase flies out and lands on the tree next to it. I'll be here if you need me, Chase says.

I hope you like it! Sorry about the time it took for me to upload!
