Ahmid, where are we going to?" I asked for the nth time.
"Patience" he said as he looked at me then back at the road. I groaned taking in his appearance again to see if I could guess where we were going. He was in casual tee and jeans. Where could he be taking me to in just tee and jeans?.
"You are being difficult, and for no reason" I replied.
"I have started knowing a few flawed things about you" he teased.
"Oh, pray tell how me being beautiful is a bad thing about me?" I asked in the best British accent I could muster and he laughed.
"Nice try love, but I wasn't talking about your undeniable beauty" he answered and we both erupted in fits of laughter at his pathetic excuse of a British accent
"But seriously where are we going to?"
"We are twenty minutes away if that helps". And I knew he was not going to elaborate the twenty minutes away from what aspect, so I looked around not like it was going to help. I knew not even up to a handful of places here, it looked like we were outskirt of town, only a few houses here and there and lots of trees but nothing else.
"Are we on the outskirts of town?" I asked.
"Nope, but something close to that" he replied.
"Ahmid?" I voiced suspiciously
"Your trust in me is flattering" he said and I giggled. Five minutes later, he parked his car on the side of the road and laughed at my confused expression.
"Ahmid this is practically the middle of nowhere" I stated as he shut his door and walked over to mine and opened it. I glared at him and got out.
"We are walking the remaining way" he said as he intertwined our hands yet again.
"Why?"
"Too inquisitive are we?" If my excessive questioning was weighing on his nerves, he didn't say "we wouldn't have a safe parking space, considering we are a little bit too late"
Now that had me wondering again. If it were a restaurant, we would definitely have a parking space except it wasn't a restaurant. But what was it then?
"I love nature" he said pulling me out of my reverie. I looked around me to see what aspect of nature he was referring to. the sky wasn't at it's best, no mountains or streams or anything naturally beautiful, maybe with the exception of the numerous green trees and considering it was almost winter, their leaves weren't all too green and luscious.
"What about nature do you like?" I asked.
"Everything about it, the chirping of the birds in the morning, the ocean waves, the smell of sand after a rainfall" he paused and I am sure he was thinking of more to say. I was happy Ahmid was begin so open with me but regardless an alarm went off in my head.
This was how it started, I don't want us to get too emotional, then we would have to say how we felt. I don't want to have to say how I felt about anything because to be honest, I don't know what I feel. Lately, I had more mixed feelings than certain ones.
"Do I smell something corny in the air?" I said taking a dramatic whiff of the air. I knew it was a mean thing to do but prevention is better than cure.
"Ha ha ha, you are so funny".
"Don't I already know that" I said dramatically rolling my eyes. With that we both went back to our thoughts, but I couldn't miss the rhythm Ahmid's finger was making on my wedding ring.
My gaze was on the ground and my head clouded with thoughts when I heard the distant sound of happy shouting and laughter and various feet pummeling against the ground.
