"Come on, Terrei." Sarah sighs, dragging the boy as he stumbles along behind her. Seishin-Sensei had made it perfectly clear that she was responsible for keeping an eye on Jackson. The last thing she wanted was to get into trouble for this idiot's mistakes. Plus, if a mob of school girls got to him, they would tear him apart, then the principle would have her head.

"So...many...stairs!" Jackson gasps after they finish climbing the third set of stairs. "Come on, ya wimp." Sarah sighs. "We're not even halfway there, yet." Jackson looks up at the girl, incredulous. "W-what? How...big...is this...damn...school?"
"Eight stories." she says, smiling sadistically as she continues to drag the poor boy along, causing him to wine. They step on the top floor, and Sarah opens the door to the roof, revealing most of the students, sitting, eating, and socializing. Jackson takes a moment to catch his breath, before tilting his head as Sarah walks away. 'Where's she goin?' he thinks, then follows.

Sarah walks over towards a corner, lunch box at her side, before she sits cross legged on the floor and opens the box. The meal is mostly comprised of onigiri, sushi, pickled veggies, and some dango for dessert. Sarah grabs her chopsticks and picks up some unagi, then some amaebi. Eel and sweet shrimp were her two favorite types of sushi.

As she chews, eyes closed as she savors the taste, she feels a presence come up beside her, then sit down. She swallows her sushi, opening her eyes as she does so. Jackson is sitting next to her. Sarah sweatdrops at the sight of the unhealthy meal that the boy is eating. Microwaved nuggets of meat, she guessed was chicken, a sugary jelly-like substance in a plastic cup, 'jell-O' says Amy, recalling from their memory. A small pizza, and two little chocolate cakes, not to mention, a bag of...Cheetos? At least, that's how the kanji read.

"How can you eat that?" Sarah asks, causing Jackson to turn his head to her, a questioning look on his face. "What do you mean?" he asks, opening up the cake bag and taking a bite out of one. Sarah looks at him, incredulous. "Eat such greasy, sugary food? Those things have more chemicals in them than a sewage treatment plant."

"We usually eat stuff like this in America." he says, although, he reads the back of the chip bag, scrunching his nose up at Sarah's analogy. The boy swallows, then turns his head to look back at Sarah. "What do you normally eat for lunch?" he asks.

"Miso soup, rice, noodles, and pickled vegetables." Sarah says, shrugging. "Today I have pickled veggies, rice balls, dango, and some sushi." Jackson scrunches his nose at the word 'sushi'. He then turns his head and looks down at the colorful little dumplings on sticks. "Are those dango?" he asks, pointing at them. "Yeah," Sarah nods. "Can I try?" he asks. "No!" she answeres, covering the dumplings, protecting them from him. "They're mine!"

Jackson pouts cutely. "But I've never tried dango before... and they look yummy."
Sarah rolls her eyes, ignoring the adorable face that the boy was making. "Then buy your own!"
The boy pouts, continuing to eat the garbage he calls a lunch.

"T-Terrei-San?" comes a small voice, causing both Jackson and Sarah to look up. A short girl with light pink hair and purple eyes stands before them, holding what looks like a notebook. "Your host mother dropped this off...I happened to be in the office at the time, and was asked to give it to you, since your host family, and my family are good friends."

"Thanks." Jackson says, his bright smile flashing as he takes his notebook. Sarah rolls her eyes. This boy was so childish. One moment, he was pouting, the next, he was smiling. "You are pleased too easily." she sighs as the girl leaves and Jackson sits back down.

"Life is so much more enjoyable when you always look on the bright side." he says, causing the violet-haired girl to roll her eyes. The boy turns to her. "Maybe you should try it."

A dark aura seems to surround Sarah as her head shoots to look at Jackson, causing the poor boy to sweatdrop. Maybe he said too much...

"S-sorry! Th-that came out wrong!" he says. Sarah brings her fist down on the poor boy's head, leaving a lump. "Owwwww...." he groans, rubbing the bump.

..........

The last bell rings, causing all of Sarah and Jackson's classmates to stampede out of the classroom and into the halls.

Sarah sighs as she gets up, grabbing her backpack and stuffing her things inside. "Are they always like that?" Jackson asks, sweatdropping at their actions. "Yep." Sarah sighs, throwing her bag over her shoulder.

They walk out of the classroom and into the crowds of students gathering their things to leave. Sarah stops at her locker as usual. She puts her shoes on and takes her unneeded books and notebooks out of her backpack, before returning them to her locker.

She turns around to see Jackson standing behind her. "What?" she asks. The Terrei boy points to the locker next to hers, then nods before saying "That's my locker..."

"Oh..." Sarah says, closing her locker door, then moving out of the way so that Jackson is able to access his own. "So..." Jackson says, taking out his shoes and putting them on. "What's up with these students?"

"What do you mean?" Sarah asks boredly as they head for the exit.

"What's their deal?" Jackson asks. "Especially the girls..." he says. He looks over to see Sarah glaring at him, a vein popping on her forehead. Jackson sweatdrops, before waving his hands frantically in the air. "N-not you!" he says. In all honesty, the Murasaki girl scared him a bit.

"They're idiots..." she sighs. "...all of them."

They open the doors, exiting the building. "How so?" Jackson asks.

"They care too much about appearances." Sarah looks to the ground, anger entering her eyes. "And they believe that those who come from less wealthy backgrounds are inferior to them in every way."

Hey guys, sorry that this chapter is a bit short, but I have both, a large test, and my birthday tomorrow. I have to both prepare and study.
