Tourmaline was snapped back into the present, as the memory ended. Olivine slowly faded from her mind, as she became more aware that she was still in the ocean fighting this strange red gem. She quickly ignored the pain in her side and slashed the gem once more. The opposite gem winced in pain again. Tourmaline hated to see other gems get hurt...Especially after the War. She had heard about all the gems that had died in the wars on Earth. She desperately wanted to join the Rebellion, but being the lower-ranked gem she was, Yellow Diamond had forced her to stay on their side. She tried to fight back, but the diamond had her ways of making gems do what she wanted. The other gem began punching her more rapidly, her fists seeming only to be red blurs.

As she fought back, she kept wondering why there would be gems on Earth. They obviously weren't friendly, which meant there was a small possibility they were from Homeworld. Then she remembered, that in the last war, the Rebellion side had won. They called themselves "The Crystal Gems" and took refuge here on Earth. Could this gem possibly be one of the survivors from the war? Her eyes widened at the thought, and she stopped fighting imeadiently. Maybe these gems could help her! If they were enemies to Homeworld too, then they might take her in...And find a way to get Olivine back...

"Wait!" she yelled. Suprisingly, the red gem stopped attcking her. "I-I'm not here to harm you! I...I need your help..." she hoped that the other gem would listen to her.

The other gem lowered her fists, and dismissed her gauntlets. Now Tourmaline could get a clear view of her hands. She saw that there was indeed two gems on her! There was one for each hand. She began to approach her, and Tourmaline stayed put. No matter how many times her gut told her to run, she was determined to prove to this gem that she could be trusted.

The other gem was face-to-face with her now. But her visors hid any trace of emotion. Tourmaline began sweating nervously. Suddenly the other gem bubbled her. She slid around, unable to control where she went, as the gem began swimming back to the surface. She exploded out of the water once more and landed gracefully on a clean beach.

"Hey! Let me out! What are you doing?" But the other gem remained expressionless as she began walking calmly to a cliff on the beach.

The gem took another massive leap and they landed on the padio of some human structure. The door of the building swung open almost imeadiently after they arrived. A little human boy with curly black hair came running out.

"Garnet! Garnet! Did you find any-" he stopped mid-sentence and stared at Tourmaline in awe. "Wow! You bubbled an actual gem!!! Pearl! Amethyst! Garnet bubbled a gem!" he called back to the house.

A new voice appeared, gradually growing closer,  "Of course she did, Steven. We do that like, everyday." The door swung open and another gem appeared, she was purple with long hair like Tourmailne's. Her eye's widened as well, when she spotted the bubbled gem. "What?! Another gem?"

Tourmaline began to feel herself blushing. She wasn't used to having this much attention. Homeworld never bothered to notice her, unless of course, she did something wrong and needed to be punished. "Umm, can I get out now?" her voice sounded very small, next to all these other gems.

The door swung open once more and a skinny, white gem slipped out and gasped when she saw Tourmaline. Really, she was getting tired of this, She just wanted to explain to them that she needed their help. She was possitive now that they were all rebel gems. They all carried the mark of the rebellion. A star, even the human boy had one on his shirt. She was glad that her cloak was covering up her Yellow Diamond symbol on her back.

"Garnet!" the white one exclaimed, "W-where did you find her?"

" I was looking for signs of Malachite in the ocean and found her instead." she explained casually.

"Are you gonna send her back to the temple?" the one called Steven asked. She wondered what kind of gem a "Steven" was.

"I think she has some important things to say to us first..." the Garnet replied.

Tourmaline stiffened. How did she know? She found all of the gems staring at her expectantly. She took a deep breath and began, "I'm Tourmaline...and I've come from Homeworld..."
