Punishment

Olivine's breath came in short ragged gasps. Her eyes were glued to the huge projection image of Tourmaline, giving away all their secrets. Beads of sweat dripped down her face as her pupils shrank to mere dots. Her heart seemed to stop in her chest. She did everything she could to not look at Yellow Diamond. What would she say? What would she do? Now she knew all of their secrets. The diamond had stopped pacing the room, and was now very still. Her gaze too, was fixed to the screen. Olivine dared a small glance at the tyrant. Her hands were balled into fists, and shaking with rage. Her grip tightened on the stabelizer she was holding so that her knuckles began to drain of color. Olivine quickly looked away, and shut her eyes tight. She couldn't bear it any longer. She silently started pleading in her head, for Tourmaline to be ok. She didn't care what types of punishment were in store for her. Just as long as Tourmaline was safe. Yellow Diamond was the leader of one of the major Gem Authorites. She had access to all sorts of things. At any moment she could send out a patrol to capture Tourmaline. Tears began to drip down her face, she couldn't stop thinking of what they would do to her best friend if they caught her. All this, for nothing...They had risked their lives to try and be a part of the Rebellion, and this was their fate all along.

"YOU!" suddenly she felt a hand on her neck, throwing her to the ground with unimaginable strength. She fell face-first, and turned around (as best as she could with her chains) to see the menacing eyes of Yellow Diamond. Her teeth were clenched, and she held the stabelizer high, and ready to strike. Never had she seen so much resentment in one's eyes. They burned with fury, and longed for Olivine's suffering. She violently brought the stabelizer down, but Olivine rather awkwardly scooted out of the way. She looked back at her cracked gem, and desperately pleaded for it's aid. She tried summoning her weapon, but her gem only faintly glowed, and then darkened once more. This was it...she was going to die here without ever knowing if Tourmaline would be ok. All she wanted to do was protect her, from people like Yellow Diamond. And from the people who had made fun of her, and told her she was worthless. Now she could never do that, for she would perish at the hands of Yellow Diamond.

"You knew what she was doing! You were part of her plan!" Yellow Diamond continued to rave. She struck Olivie once more, and caught her on her gem. There was a sickening crack, and then unspeakable pain flooded through her body. She screamed out, as the pain continued. . She weakly glanced back at her gem. Slight relief flooded through her when she saw that it was not broken. Yes, it was severely cracked. A line ran all the way down, but stopped just at the edge. If it had continued all the way through, her gem would have split in half, and there would be no more Olivine. She had to stay alive. She had to. To protect Tourmaline, to at least make sure that she would be safe when Olivine was...gone.

Pain exploded throughout her neck, as the stabelizer met her flesh. She felt like she was back in the torture room, getting beat endlessly, not knowing if everything would be ok. But this time, she knew for sure, that everything would not be ok. After that it was stike after strike after strike until she was lying in a puddle of her own escence, unmoving.

"Gems like you..." Yellow Diamond continued in between breaths, "will never learn. No matter how many times we punish you, you just keep coming back. Maybe...we should end it once and for all..."

She raised the stabelizer over her head, and with such power she violently brought it down upon the unmoving gem before her, and stabbed her right in her back. Olivine tried to scream in pain, but found that she had no voice, and no energy to do so. Her eyes bulged out as the diamond pushed it deeper into her body, until you could hardly see the handle. The electric waves from the stabelizer began to zig zag across her body, causing an imense pain to flare up inside her. All she wanted to do, was protect Tourmaline. Her best friend had been through so much, and the least she wanted to do was make her feel welcomed, like she mattered...She loved her so much, and could feel all of the pain she had endured. It wasn't healthy...all she wanted was to help her. She had once told her, when they were first planning to escape, that they would get through this together. Now, they were seperated, one on Earth, one on Homeworld. One in extreme pain, about to die, the other feeling lost and alone...They would get through nothing together, for it was over...there was nothing left to fight for.

Tears streamed down her face, and in her head she spoke, 'Goodbye, Tourmaline...I'm so sorry...' Then, Olivine retreated to her gem.
