"What's the matter Daddy?" She'll ask as his eyes fill with tears.

"What's wrong Daddy?" She'll ask as he looks blankly into the jagged skyline of the city.

"Where's my mommy, Daddy?" She'll ask after school with innocence.

"Why are you sad Daddy?" She'll question once more as the day passes again.

Then he'll tell her about her mother,

How she tried their very best to save those people.

She'll cry because she doesn't understand why she isn't there.

And every year for awhile that day she will bare a smile.

In hopes that maybe one day it will repay for the ones all those people missed.

"I love you mom." She'll whisper every evening before bed.

"I love you Daddy." She'll yell half way out the door as she makes her way to work.

She climbs in the front seat as the sirens wail a smiles faintly.

She tries to finish what her mother had only just started in hopes that maybe

One day she'll look down at the earth and be able to point with her mother

They are here because I was there.
