Chapter 3: Nathan

"Uh .... Can I help you ..? " A deep voice says as I slowly turn around and see Nathan as he puts on his thick black glasses.

"Uh , I'm Brandy.. Uh I'll be helping you for the next week . Can I get you anything?" I ask . Stop staring at those beautiful green eyes Brandy. 

"Did you get that ?"

"Uh? Sorry I'm not use to being up this early."  Nathan lets out a soft chuckle and repeats what he just said to me .
"I asked if you can get my meds, the one in the green bottle and some ice water ."

"Yeah .. Are they in here or do I need to go somewhere and get them ?" I ask .

"They are actually right behind you." He says as I turn back around and grab the funny looking green bottle.
"Oh , yay . How many do you need ?"

"Three with every meal . Uh could you also get me my breakfast ? Dr.Nicole has it ready for me by now ."

"Uh yeah , sure . I'll be right back ."  I say as I leave the room . Dr. Nicole where are you ?
After a eternity of looking I finally just go in the kitchen and see a tray with a bowl of what looks like peaches and cream oatmeal with ice coffee  .I grab the tray and head back to the room .

"Okay Nathan I have your food ." I say as I walk into the room . He looks more awake than before.  Once my whole body is in the room he looks at me and says

"Thanks Brandy. How do you know my name ?" He asks . Well crap . "Oh you know, while I was mesmerized by you sleeping I looked at you medical chart and read your name ." I say to myself.

"Uh ... Well .. Ya see , I , uh -" "

"you looked at my  medical chart while I was sleeping? " he guesses. I decide to go along with it .

"Yup that's what happened. Hey want your food now ?"

"Yes please." He says . As I walk over to the bed I see his beautiful green eyes looking straight into my pooped color brown eyes. I'm so mesmerized I jump as he talks .
"Brandy?" Then as I jump I spill the tray on him .

"Ah ! I am so sorry ." I say hoping he won't get mad .

"It's alright , but I'll tell you one thing peaches and cream oatmeal And ice coffee do not feel good on your lap ." He says while looking down at the mess I made .

"Uh how about I go get you uh new sheets ?"

He laughs and says "That would be nice . " I once again leave the room , get new sheets , and come back . He's standing up and I notice he is leaning sideways and hoping on the rail, also he's in hospital night gown. Well this is awkward. I quickly go to the bed and strip the bed then remake it . When I'm done he climbs back Into the bed I have created.

"Thanks ." He starting to say thanks a lot.

"Your welcome. Do you want any thing else to eat ? I mean peaches and cream oatmeal with ice coffee? That's gross . " I shake my head in disgust.

   "What ? You got something against peaches and cream? Its amazing! " he says while throwing his arms in the air to emphasize how amazing it is .

  "It's not the peaches it's the oatmeal. I hate that stuff."

   "Okay fine what do you have against oatmeal?" He says .

    "When I was in third grade this girl poured her oatmeal on me and told everyone I threw up, it was all full." I say still remembering the day. "And I haven't ate it since . " I say walking to sit at the end of his bed .

   "Uh so do you want any thing or not ?" He looks and me and says

      "Nah. While you were getting the sheets I got something to eat . Because you took that long " he says and gives me a big grin .

    "Hey I'm new here! blame my lateness on that ." 

   "Can I ask you a question?" He asks.

"Shot ."

"Why are you here ? I mean what made you volunteer here ?"

"Well you see Nathan when someone gets something that I worked so hard for I come back with revenge , I got caught and I have to do a week of service."

"Dang , what did you do?"

I let out a big sigh.

"I egged my exes car , put toilet paper on it and covered it with syrup." I look at him and I can see he is in shock . "Wow ."

"Yup . Now I just have to do my time then I'll be on my way ."

"Well Brandy, I hope you find a reason to stay ." He says and gives my a wining smile . If you only knew Nathan , if you only new.
