| Chapter Seven |

It was a new day, they agents hadn't all had a good nights sleep but it was better than nothing.

"Are you sure putting her picture out there will help, Reid?" Asked Emily.

"Positive" Reid answered. He was about to say something more but he was interrupted by a heavy breathing Rossi.

"Late night?" Morgan joked. Rossi shook his head.

"Dinner with an old friend" he answered.

"With benefits?" Asked Blake. The team laughed.

"No, we tried but it didn't work. Is someone going to answer that?" He pointed to the phone that was ringing loudly. Hotch walked over to the desk it was on and answered it.

"SSA Aaron Hotchner" he waited for a voice.

"Agent Hotchner, I'm so glad you answered the phone. You tell your little team that their cry for help, isn't going to work" Hotch immediately recognised the voice on the phone to the voice in the video. He made a signal to Garcia to begin tracking the phone. "I want you off this case or else" the voice finished.

"Or else what?" Hotch asked.

"Nine will soon become eight" and with that the phone call ended. The team who had heard the conversation looked at each other worriedly.

"He said nine will become eight, is he talking about us?" Asked Elle. Hotch looked over at her, noticing she had her hand over the scar on her chest. She was breathing heavily, although Hotch knew it wasn't right he couldn't help but profile her. She was afraid she would be attacked again.

"We aren't quitting this case. From now on, no one goes anywhere by themselves" Hotch stated. The team nodded their heads. A young police officer entered the room.

"The suspect, Matthew Cogan wants to talk to you" she said. Hotch nodded and headed to the interview room.

"Mr Cogan" he addressed.

"I don't want to talk to you. I want to talk to the agent I hit" he stated confidently. Blake who was waiting outside watching, walked in. Hotch nodded and left the room.

"Take a seat" Matthew offered. Blake ignored him and stood. "Suit yourself"

"What do you want?" Blake asked.

"I was at their house" he started. Blake sat down, interested in where he was going. "I was there to take their daughter, give her a scare. But when I got their, she was gone. They were already dead when I got there I swear!"

"How can I believe you?" Blake asked.

"Because I filmed the whole thing"

"We'll need to see that" she replied.

"Okay" Matthew answered. Blake nodded and stood up.

"He's completely changed, he went from nervous to completely confident and telling us what he saw" she said to Hotch. He raised his head above her and looked at Matthew.

"We're ready to give the profile"
