Everybody starts to go to the kitchen. Before me and Anthony head out the door, Oscar calls me to come. Anthony gives me a smile and walks out the door. I walk to Oscar and stand in front of him, looking up at him. Oscar is maybe in his mid-30's, and is obviously the leader of our group; with Ozzy as second.
"Hey, are you okay, Andie?" He asks, worried.
"Yeah, I'm fine...why do u ask?" I ask, confused. Where is this coming from?
"I worry about you, I know that you're a big girl. But lately, I can see that something is troubling you. And I know you don't talk to anybody about your problems. Not even me." He says, not moving his eyes away from mine. Oscar has always looked out for me, treats me like his own daughter. We trust each other.
But I don't know what to say, because really, I don't even know what's bothering me. I even ask myself that... Am I ok? Well, I feel fine. I have no bites, barely any bruises. Maybe I'm just tired? Yeah, I'm not sure if I'm tired physically or mentally, I just know that I'm tired. Finally, I say, "I-I'm fine, Oscar. I'm just tired, that's all." I give him a small smile.
"Alright, if you say so. If you need somebody to talk to, don't hesitate to come to me, okay?" He says, not convinced. He puts his hands on my shoulders and pulls me in for a hug.
"Okay," I mumble to him chest, hugging him back around his waist. When we release, I smile at him. I walk away, then heading outside with Anthony.
Do I look that terrible? I need to look at a mirror when I get the chance, I think to myself.
Just as I'm about to head out the door, Asher blocks my way. You can say that Asher is kind of the...bad boy? Well, he thinks he's a badass and the best in our whole group, while everyone else thinks he's annoying and a fuckboy. Though, he is a good fighter when it comes to "one on one" and he's not scared of getting his hands dirty.
I sigh and look up at him. What does he want now? "What do you want?" I say, going straight to the point. He usually doesn't talk to anybody. He's more of a "I'm too cool to talk to you unless I need you" type of guy.
He looks back down at me with a amused smirk on his handsome face. He's wearing dark blue jeans with a black shirt and as always, has a faded back leather jacket on. And to finish it up, he has a thin silver chain around his neck. He may be Gorgeous but he's not my type, especially his attitude.
"Hey, gorgeous," he finally says, ignoring my question. I roll my eyes. If he thinks that I'm going to fall for his little tricks then, he really is stupid.
"I said, what do you want?" I snap, I'm tired and I don't have time for this. I don't have time for him.
He chuckles, "how about me and you go get a room," he suggest, getting closer to me and giving me his breath taking smile. Haven't we been through this before? I always end up saying no.
"I'm busy, and I don't have time for this. Go find someone else to bug," I say, pushing him out of the way to pass.
"Damn, on you rag already?" he says behind my back, laughs to himself as he starts to walk away.
I slightly turn my head to the side so he can hear me, "Don't be mad at me just cause you can't get some," I say with a smirk, knowing full well that that'll get him.
I walk out side and see Anthony on the porch. He brought some chairs for us and I take a seat next to him. With a gun in our hands as we look out into the distance. It's a nice, comfortable silence. Silence. Something that is now normal to us. I remember when it use to be an alien feeling. How strange it was to not hear the cars passing by every once in a while, or a police sirens here and there; airplanes across the sky and little kids scream outside as they play tag. All of that is gone, who knew I would miss the oh so annoying sound of my neighbor screaming at her kids at 12am.
