What do I do? I ask myself, panicked. I've been taught how to get out of this position in this kind of situation but all that has left my mind. Leaving me thinking of nothing but that anything can go wrong at any second. That someone can get hurt at any second. That I can die at any second.
My breathing is fast, my chest rising and falling rapidly and I look at everyone in front of me as they look back at me and Dean.
"Let her go!" Oscar demands loudly, taking a step forward, still pointing his rifle.
"Don't take another step or I will fire!" Dean warns and presses his gun more to my head.
I notice my hands are dead cold and shaking. I clench them into fists. I can't make a sound. I'm mute. Should I scream? Tell them to put their guns down so he won't shoot me? That sounds ridiculous.
The only thing I can do is look at Oscar. I'm sure my face is pale and my eyes are wide open with panic. I look at him and he looks back at me, but he doesn't look as scared as I do, he looks brave; determine to fix all of this. To save Asher and me.
"You gonna be ok, Andie," Oscar reassures me, eyes looking at me with bravery, strength and honesty. I let out a short breath as I hold Oscars gaze for a few more seconds. Looking at him calms me down. As if he's giving me his strength, and I start to believe in him; in me. I close my eyes and breathe.
I open my eyes when I hear Oscar starts to talk to Dean. "You are out numbered. So think this through. You can shoot her, but you still won't pass us. You can try to shoot us, but we have more guns. Think this through, kid. Just put your guns down, and no one will get hurt," Oscar tries to say calmly.
Dean steps back, taking me with him a few steps. "You can't blame me for trying," Dean says angrily. "I'm not gonna just wait here forever!"
"We're not gonna keep you guys here forever," Oscar answers back. "We're still decided what to do with you!" he sounds pissed off. "Now put your gun down and let her go!"
I can hear Dean breathing rapidly behind me, tickling the side of my face a little.
Then, I feel the cold pressure from the gun disappear, and Dean's hand releases my neck, but he shoves me towards Oscar, I stumble. I jump when I hear something heavy hit the floor. "Fine," Dean says from behind me. "I give up," he says behind his clenched teeth.
Oscar walks forward and grabs me by the arm, yanks me to him, and wraps an arm around me, while his other is still holding his gun.
"Dude?!" I hear Bobby say to Dean in surprise and disbelief.
Dean turns towards him. "Don't be stupid, Bobby, he's right," he barks then turns to look at Oscar, "We're out numbered. There's no chance we can get out," he sounds annoyed. Bobby mumbled something to himself and shoves Asher towards my group too.
"Thank you," Oscar says and puts his gun down.
I don't say or do anything, not even hug Oscar back, I just stand there.
"Are you ok?" I hear someone's ask. I think they're asking me, but I don't respond.
Am I ok? I'm alive, aren't I? No wounds or bruises on me... My eyes wonder around but I'm not looking at anything. Everything seems so far and meaningless and slow. Why is there so many people here? What are they doing here? I ask myself, confused.
