I bolted as fast as I could. I didn't even look back once to see if Vie made a run for it too, the adrenaline pumped through my veins and looking back would slow me down. I had never ran this fast in my life. A blur of color covered my eyes, I couldn't even tell if the object in front of me was a death hunter or a tree but I took my chances.

When I felt as if I was far enough away and my lungs felt like they were going to pop I jolted to a stop. Where am I going to go? My mind questioned and from behind I heard feet charging towards me but I couldn't think so I started running again straight into the forest.

I always wondered what was beyond the forest and I hoped I would survive to find out. Everyone always said that our town wiped out the other towns or because everyone fears us they live very far away.

Before I thought that each tree was unique with there own specific markings but after hours of no other landscape than trees, they all looked the same. Yet there were some that I have never seen before, they were tall with layers of green, thin needles that fall off at the touch with is more evidence that the story is fake.

I noticed the clouds hung high in the light blue sky yet I wasn't concentrating on my surroundings, I tripped on an object and in a flash I found myself lying flat on the ground.

"Ow" I groaned as I yanked myself back up. I heard a faint rustle and about fifteen feet away an animal that I had never seen before was foraging through the dirt and patches of grass. It had four long legs with hooves instead of hands. It had a fluffy tail and at the end of it's elongate neck was a narrow head with large ears and black, beady eyes. I inched closer to try and get an even better look at it. A deer I figured out. Vie told me him and his father would go hunt in the woods and they would look for deers to eat and sometimes hang on there wall. I wanted to get even closer to pet it or even ride it. My feet moved silently across the mud ground but the deer was listening closely, his ears twitched back and forth until I reached out and it jumped up, sending me flying onto the ground and then it galloped out of sight.

My stomach growled filling me with pain and weakness. The last time I was given food was at the prison and I had to eat a piece of my father. I should have tried to kill and eat the deer when I had a chance, I thought to myself. I tried to eat one of the needles but the bitterness struck my mouth and made me spit it out immediately. Starving I continued on unknowing where my destination is because if I stopped to rest I wouldn't want to get up again and eventually die in a forest.

I walked towards the sun so at least it would take longer for it to get dark. I soon approached a long river that interfered with my logic. I searched for a way to cross the river and found a thin log that had fallen over the river. I spread my arms out to help keep my balance on the log. I began to walk, cautiously and I made the mistake of looking down. I watched the fast paced water hit the rocks with such force and knew the current could easily drag me under in a flash. I gulped and quickly closed my eyes. I continued walking, the log seemed to grow with each step I took. Drops of water shot up and collided with my face. The sound of rushing water filled my ears. Suddenly I lost my footing and I slipped on the soggy log. My legs landed in the river, I could feel the water drag them towards the currant. I wrapped my arms around the damp, slippery log and used all my strength to pull myself up. I was so tired, I didn't even bother to stand up again. I crawled the rest of the log, clutching onto the log for my life. I was over joyed when I reached land. Yet I noticed a small loaf of bread on the rocks by the river which was strange, even I know bread doesn't grow on trees. That indicated someone else was out here, and that scared me.

Every step took effort, I needed to stop so I leaned against the remains of a dead tree that had fallen down.

Snap! I heard a foot step. I attempted to get up but I was too weak from a numerous amount of things.I grabbed on to the fallen tree and pushed all my weight against it. Again, curiosity crossed my mind before safety and I walked towards the noise to investigate. I tried to make less noise than I did with the deer because this time my intention is to murder and eat it if it's an animal. As I get closer I hear faint whispering. I start to move towards it but I guess they could here me because the whispering came to a jolt stop. All of a sudden a felt a rough, cable-like object tightened against my legs. I tumbled to the ground and the next thing I know, the whole world went black.
