The past few weeks flew by in a blur. I was able to get enough groceries so that I can eat at least one meal a day and paid off most of my important bills. Electric and water. Sadly my apartment eats up a shit ton of my light and water even if there's only one person living in it.My phone beeped around two p.m on a Wednesday, two weeks after I had dinner with my brothers. I opened the messages immediately seeing as I had nothing to do, my boss was laying off coworkers and I was afraid I'd be one of them. If I am then I'll have nothing to support myself with. So I'm hiding. Not the best idea but still.
I need you to come to my office.
It was from Liam.
Why? I texted back.
I've got a meeting and I just fired my assistant, please. I groaned, this man goes through assistants like I do with jobs but it's not my fault, it's mostly my bosses who are too stupid to see that people are stealing from them which leads to them not having enough money to pay for electricity, stocks and sometimes the lease.
Standing up I quickly got dressed in suitable attire, black dress pants, a white collared shirt and a beige sweater. I made my way out of my apartment and down five flights of stairs seeing as the elevator is once again, broken.
I hoped in my car, a 2016 dark grey Jeep Grand Cherokee, the only thing I kept from my brothers as a gift to them even though it was a gift to me. I hardly ever use this car because of the expense gas causes, I fill it up once or twice every four to seven months and take it out so that the parts done get rusty. Today would part the seventh month anniversary of when I last took it out, though since the weather is becoming older I'd have to start using it more often.
I made it to Liam's work in no time and was able to get past the security and up to the 23rd floor which was mostly vacant except for the two meeting going on. None of which held my brother in it "Liam?" I walked around the corner of a glass meeting which is occupied.
"Elena!" Liam greeted brightly, he and Mr. Sterling stood over by a lone table, Liam being the one sitting down and Mr. Sterling leaning over him. Mr. Sterling moved away and let his eyes rank over my figure "where's the meeting?" I looked around "there is none, well at least there will be me and Mr. Sterling" I sighed running a hand through my hair.
"Seriously! I got up and dressed for nothing! You could have taken notes yourself or I don't know, hired another assistant!" Liam smirked sitting up "but I wanted my dearest sister, plus I'll be paying" I turned around "Nope! Nope nope nope nope Nope!" The second I turned around I heard him jumping up to his feet before he was at my side in a second "but eleeenaa" he groaned.
"No Liam! I am not your personal assistant nor will I ever be, I've got a life I need to get on with and it does not involve my older brother being my boss" he stopped me. "Please, just this once" one look in his golden eyes and I couldn't resist saying 'yes' but it was only for this one meeting, one.

"Great! I'll speak with my secretary and set up the last two meeting, by next week we'll be in Boston checking up on the new companies being built and the coworkers. I want to make sure everyone is getting along so that no problems occur" I closed the notebook and set down the pen I used to write with over the last two hours.
That's how long I had to listen to them talk about shareholders, stocks and employment. Least to say it was boring, I think I almost died!
"-Elena will go with you tomorrow to check over your establishment, it's not like I don't trust you Mr. Sterling but you've been to my company a billion times and I have yet to see how you run things. She will be taking notes, talking to your employees and will be video recording your interactions. Please don't take this to offense but I have to do what is right for my business" Mr. Sterling nodded while I on the other hand object "I'm sorry but no" Liam looked at me with a frown, I shrugged.
"You said this once, I am not going all the way across New York for some man's business when I hardly know him. I don't care about stocks or investments and I surely don't care about how his business is run, he's got three bodyguard for fucks sake!" Liam's eyes widened while Mr. Sterling on the other hand leaned back and did nothing. I shrugged again.
"Elena, please, you'll be doing both of us a huge favor and I'll take you out to dinner, even by you a new dress or something. Please, please!" I shook my head, no way in hell was I agreeing to this. I have two shifts tomorrow, one early in the morning and one in the evening and I don't have time to gossip with employees.
"No, I said no the first time and the second but this time I mean it. I'm not doing this crap for you anymore, get your own assistant and this time keep her!"
