"How would you describe your feeling towards this job? Do you think the pay is great? Does Mr. Sterling offer good medical care, does he care for you and your needs?" Question after question, answer after answer I've been interviewing each one of Mr. Sterlings employees and making check marks for those of who think he's a good boss and x's on those who don't. I've been making side notes for those who want to add extra but there aren't many.Out of the 365 employees he had only 150 think he should pay more, 190 like his service and the last 25 think he's a good boss but should check up more on his employees. Yes, I interviewed 365 employees over the course of ten hours and if I do say so myself, I did good. I got most of them in groups and almost all of them agreed with each other which made my job much more easy. I went to three meeting with Mr. Sterling when I had free time but skipped lunch. As of right now I'm doing paperwork.
I didn't sign up for it but after seeing his office look like a zoo was let free to roam, I had to do something. I spent another two hours filing away his paperwork in alphabetical order and bills by the numbers. In the end, his office looked neat and presentable, I even found a meeting tank up under all of his mess.
"Dear lord you are perfect!" Mr. Sterling exclaimed shutting his office doors, I turned around and gave a brief smile before continuing to file staff employment papers away. "I live to be perfect, Mr. Sterling, I did help Liam out with his business" Mr. Sterling sat his briefcase on his mahogany and loosened his tie. "Please, call me Rosen or Sterling, Mr. Sterling makes me feel old" I gave another brief smile.
"I'm almost done with this then I'll be out of your hair for the day, talk to my brother about wiring the money to my bank account" I grabbed my purse, pulled my hair into a lazy bun and headed for the door.
"Wait!" I paused "have you thought about my offer? I watched you today, you did better than my last personal assistant did and you only talked to them for a couple of minutes. People have been bumping into my all day bragging about how nice you are and the hundreds of times you helped them organize their desk and files. Do you want to be my assistant?" I sighed, no I honestly don't want to be his assistant because I don't want to work in my brother's company nor do I want to wake up early every morning to help someone else.
I like my job at the supermarket, it pays me enough to get buy even if I have to skip a meal or two. I've got everything that I need. . . .
"Again, my offer is no" I opened the door "goodbye Mr. Sterling"
*
"So you're telling me you've gotten two job offerings in the last two days that pays more that we get in a month and you said no" exclaimed Sandy, one of the only people working at the supermarket that hasn't gotten fired. I smiled sheepishly "yeah" was my meek reply, Steve made an inhuman noise with his mouth twirling the straw in his cup.
"I can't believe this! If I had that opportunity I'd jump at it" I shrugged "I can set you up a meeting" he shook his head looking off with a mock sad expression "no, sadly I don't have the brains to plan meetings, file papers or take notes and I definitely don't have patience to wait on somebody all day. That's why I'm not a waiter" Sandy and me laughed.
As of right now, 8:30 p.m, Sandy, Steve and I are at a no so well known pub that serves cheap and greasy food. We decided to have a night out to do whatever the hell we wanted and getting wasted with greasy food in our stomachs was the first thing that came to our mind. I sipped on my Malibu sunset cocktail watching the two bicker back and forth. Yes, I was considering working for Mr. Sterling but I didn't see the point in working for him when I could work for Liam. I don't want to work with them but the money they pay me for a couple of hours of filing has got to be the highlight of my day.
Heck, maybe I could move out of my shitty apartment and share a three bedroom one with Steve and Sandy. Nah. . .I chuckled, I honestly don't want to live with two people who will fuck their brains out all night long. I'm not into that kind of stuff.
"So are you going to do it?" Sandy brought my back to reality, she took a gulp of her sex on the beach and leaned closer to Steve. I raised an eyebrow. "Maybe" Sandy rolled her eyes and went back to talking with Steve, I stood up and grabbed my purse. "I'm off, I've got to get up early tomorrow to go house shopping" Sandy and Steve stood up and hugged me goodbye.
I made it back home in no time.
