Kypress chewed on the fatty mole. She slowly swallowed the mole and savored every flavor. She was still injured, Killira had been rubbing mint on her skinned shoulder. "Can I have a mole too??" A cub asked. Kypress looked down frowning. Vice sat down with giant, pleading eyes. "Vice, you know to go back to your mother, you have stay with her, but, I will give you one mole."Kypress told him sternly as she grasped a mole and laid it in front of Vice. Vice yipped happily and trotted away with the mole dangling from his small jaw. Kypress watched as the leaves fell and fell for a couple of minutes and then stretched out. "Hey, Kypress," Lunea hasn't let her come out  at night, you can hear them arguing." Saria said. Kypress shook her head. "What about you and Kife?" Kypress asked nudging Saria. "Well, actually, I think he might ask me to be his mate." "Will you say yes?" Kypress asked with wide eyes. "Well...yeah, Kife is a good Sabertooth, he would be a good mate too." Saria said. Kypress nodded. "Hey, and what about you and Carp, eh?" "Pfft. I know Carp likes me, but, I want to wait for any of that. I have bigger ideas." Kypress said. "Like what?" Saria asked. A loud cry pierced the air. It sounded like Tara. "Let's go!!!" Kypress snarled as she sprinted through. It was a black sabertooth. His green eyes shine with harshness. His shiny black fur glistened as he snarled at Tara. "Rarrrarrrr..." Kypress roared. Saria snarled behind her. Tara yelped. Tarren ounces onto Kypress and Kypress snarled and growled. She bit his sleek black fur and clawed his face. Tarren slashed Kypress's wounded shoulder and Kypress squeaked with pain. Tarren looked in Kypress's eyes as he was about to claw Kypress open. Saria roared in the background, but she could do nothing about it. Tarren stopped and his eyebrows furrowed. He was confused. 'What are you waiting for?' Kypress thought. "You..you look like Markiza." Tarren said.

Kypress snarled and got up. Saria watched Kypress carefully and slowly stalked beside her. "Who is Markiza?" Saria and Kypress asked. "She joined my clan years ago. She said she lost her two cubs. I took her in and cared for her. She is still alive. You act just like her, though. You are tough and brave and strong, you're just like her." Tarren said to Kypress in wonder. "Where is my brother, Claw?" Kypress asked. "He came to the camp and found your mother. He left to find you a couple of days ago. He said he was going to the mountains. He left his mate, Cardnala." Tarren said. "We're leaving. Kypress doesn't need to see her mom. Go away Tarren. Get off our land." Saria snarled as she grabbed up Tara and left with Kypress. "Don't listen to him. He's a scoundrel, a liar." Saria growled on the way back. "Tara, you better get back to camp and get with your mother and brother. Carp has been worried sick! You have caused enough trouble as it is, and we can't afford to have another death!!!" Saria yelled. Saria was never angry. Tara looked completely fine. "You heard her!!! Start acting with responsibility, you brat cub!!" Kypress roared. Tara started shaking and ran ahead to camp. "Carp will hate me." Kypress said to Saria. "It's better than the cub not learning a lesson," Saria told her. Hours later, Kypress and Saria sat down for lunch by the tree. Carp came over. "Hey Kypress, hey Saria. Tara is really sad, but, I don't blame you guys, she needed a good roaring. Also, I talked to Dagzer and he said that Acre was off on a hunting mission for a Mammoth, and he will be back in a week or so." Carp told them as he sat down with a piece of prey. "Don't bother Saria, Carp, she doesn't need it right now. She needs to rest." Kife said protectively to Carp. "Wha? No, I'm just chatting." Carp told him. Kife narrowed his eyes. "What's with Kife?" Kypress asked. "He's been meaner lately, I'm not really sure why. He's pretty protective of Saria these days. Saria watched the horizon and avoided Kypress and Carp's eyes. Something was wrong, and Kypress and Carp knew it.
