Carp and Kypress wandered through to the river. It was dark and the stars shone through the trees. A frosty breeze swept through the land. "Something's wrong with Saria." Carp said. "Yes, something is definitely wrong. I think it has to do with Kife." Kypress told him. "Wait...Kife?" "Has Kife told you anything?" She asked. "Well, a couple of days ago, Kife was talking to me." "What were you talking about?" Kypress demanded. "Oh, well, we were just talking about pups and, well, who we thought we would ask to be mates with. Anyway, Kife started talking a lot about Saria and I think they are mates now." Carp told her. "I'm not surprised, but, I thought Saria would tell me!" She said. "Yeah, you should ask her." Carp said as they began to walk away and back to camp.
In the morning, Kypress got up earlier than anyone else. It had started snowing and the ground was lightly garnished with the frozen collections. Kypress wanted to know if her mother was alive and she wanted to know if her mom was actually in Tarren's clan. Something started batting at Kypress's side. Kypress turned around. Renn was plopped down with a mouse in her jaw. "What are you doing up?" Kypress asked. "I came to give you a mouse! That was the best roaring ever! You showed Tara who's boss!!! That prissy little cub won't be bad ever again!" Renn said furrowing her brow. "Listen, I need to go. I have something to do, but, I will come back later." Kypress whispered. "Can I come?" Renn asked. "No!" Kypress hissed. "Your mother will claw my face off!!!" "Uggh, fine I will stay here." Renn replied frowning. Kypress nodded and set off. Kypress traveled through the cold, snow covered forest. Tarren's territory was in a cave surrounded by forest and pathways. Kypress took a deep breath and scrambled into the biggest den. Tarren lay asleep, his massive paws hung out in front of him. "Tarren, I'm here to see my mother." Kypress said firmly. Tarren jolted awake. "Markiza is in the den next to mine. Go! Be quick, I don't want any other cats knowing you are here!" Tarren told her as he fell back asleep. Kypress was surprised at how calm Tarren was. Kypress inched her way into a leaf covered den. A sabertooth cat was strewn across the den. She looked just like Kypress, but, flecks of gray marked her yellow and tan fur. Her brow was furrowed in a worried way and she twitched slightly. "Mother?" Kypress asked as she stood over Markiza. Markiza jolted awake and growled. "Mother?? It's me!" Kypress said. Markiza looked at Kypress. "Kypress? You're alive?" Markiza said happily. "I can't believe it! How did you find me!!" Markiza asked, rubbing her head against her daughter. "I joined SwiftClan! Tarren told me you were here!" Kypress told her. "Your brother thinks you are lost! We have to get him and tell him that you are here!! Your brother has a mate now, her name is Cardnala, she's gorgeous! They are actually expecting a litter of Cubs soon! Do you have a mate? Cubs?" Markiza asked. 'She's changed.' Kypress thought. Her mother was now vibrant instead of demanding. This was a good change. "Actually, I don't have a mate or Cubs, but I might." Kypress said. "That's fine!! Markiza told her. "I love you!" Markiza said. Kypress smiled. "Mom, I need to go back to camp, but, I will visit!"
Kypress was in a great mood when she got back to camp. Saria looked very excited as she raced up to Kypress. "Come." Saria told her. Saria and Kypress laid down by the river on a rock. "I have something to tell you.....I'm expecting Cubs." Saria said. "What??? Really!!! That's great! Who's the father?" Kypress asked. "Kife." Saria answered.
