Chapter 6:

The next day.

5:30 am.

Suho's POV

I sat lifelessly in SeYi's curtained space in the patient's room after waking up beside her. About 7 other patients were in the room with us but were either still asleep or had family members visit to eat breakfast with. After laying eyes on the paper that was lying on top of my lap, a gush of sadness engulfed me. I stared at the Sehun's death certificate in depression.

How could Sehun pass away like this? SeYi and him barely even made up before he left. Changmin isn't even old enough to handle such traumatic news. I sighed heavily and wiped off the exhaustion written all over my face.

I glanced back at SeYi, who was still sound asleep, recovering. I grinned at her peaceful figure, but then frowned imagining of how she would react to everything that happened. Changmin is still in a dangerous state and Sehun suddenly passed away in Jeju. She would have to wake at the time everything is falling apart.

Soon, my phone started vibrating in my pocket. I picked it up.

"Yoboseyo?"

"Hyung!"

"Oh. Kai. What is it?"

"Changmin's operation is over!"

My eyes widened and I immediately jogged out of the room.

In front of the Operating Room.

I reached the same operating room as last night within a few minutes. I noticed the group was waiting for my arrival and so was the doctor.

"There he is!" Chanyeol pointed at me and everybody waited in anticipation.

"Doc!" I called out, "How is he? How's Changmin?"

"The operation took much longer than expected." The doctor answered.

Anxiety quickly rushed through the group, everybody terrified of what the doctor could say next.

The doctor continued, "However, the boy is safe."

Immediately, all of the guys cheered, including me. Thank goodness.

"The operation was successful." The doctor proceeded, "But there is a downside to all of this. There is very much a possibility that there can problems later on."

"Problems?" I repeated nervously.

"There are many things that can happen to him due to his critical condition earlier. The child is so young. His recovery may be quicker than an adult, but the chances of him having problems are unpredictable for his young age."

I nodded, understanding the situation. All were silent.

"So when will we be able to see him?" I anxiously asked.

"Within a few hours. But he probably won't wake up until much later. He still needs to recover."

I nodded again. "Thank you, doctor."

The white coated one smiled warmly. "If you have any more questions, ask for Doctor Kim MinSeok. I'll answer them myself."

"Neh."
