Chapter #2 "An Abru Encounter"

There's something about New York at night with all the lights and stores just glowing. It's a calming feeling for me. I've decided to just take a walk by myself with my music. As I just imagine what it would actually be like to write here in a writing studio. I've already met my roommates; which they both have wheelchairs but I don't discriminate. One of them is named Ashley; she's already like my best friend and it's not just because she's Joe's girlfriend it's because of who she is, to be honest. Tae's like that too but she's more reserved. She dates Harry Styles from One Direction; who I don't like at all ever since Zayn Malik left the group.

I am listening to my girl Taylor Swift with her album 1989, which I have to mention that it's about Harry; well most of it is anyways. I don't discriminate though because I actually like that she's taking it to this level with her music. This style of music that she has done is very empowering for her and other women if I do say so myself.

I walk down the sidewalk about to sit down on a bench when someone accidentally trips me. "What is up with New Yorkers? They don't care at all." I think to myself. "Oh my, are you okay," someone asks me from behind. "No, I'm not okay this is the second time somebody has done this to me" I again think to myself. "Yeah, I'm fine," I say as the person who witnessed everything helps me up and I thank him. I then realize who witnessed it, and sigh mentally but let out the name I have mentioned earlier out of my mouth. "Nano, what the heck are you doing here?" Wow, first Joe now my ex-boyfriend; what kind of shit are you doing up there God? Oh, by the way, I'm very religious if you have yet to figure that out.

"I'm here on vacation with my family," he says with a smile, probably a fake one since I dumped his ass. I sigh as I say "Well, enjoy your vacation" I say as I start walking the other way until he grabs my wrist and aggressively asks me "How's SparkleShine," I gulp, this is a side I've never seen of him before mostly because I've never seen him in person except only once when we skyped but that was it. Sparkle is our daughter in the roleplay we used to do. I got custody of her when he had cheated on me. My voice shook as I answered "I don't know, I don't roleplay anymore" he then pulls me against the brick wall, making my head bleed a little. "I'm not going to ask you again," he says through gritted teeth. "How's SparkleShine?"

At that point I start crying, knowing he won't let this go "She's fine, please don't hurt me; you already did once."

He gets down on my level and says "That's payback for never texting me back." He then spits at me and I'm alone against the brick wall. Eventually getting up and going back to my dorm; my wrist black and blue all over and the back of my head pounding and bleeding. "What a dick," I say aloud to myself crying.

When I get to the dorm Ashley is there with Joe and she notices me. "Aby, what happened are you okay?" she asks me with concern in her voice. I'm shaking from fear when I sit down next to her. Then I notice his chocolate sensitive eyes staring right into my hazel like ones. It was like time stopped as I crawl onto his lap and just shake. He's singing his song " to me. It was then where I looked up at his eyes and just said "Hi Nick" and explained everything to him. Joe and Ashley were listening to what happened.

'A Little Bit Longer child," he says with a smile.

Joe and Ashley exchanged looks as she asks him... "Joenut, what just happened?"

"Looks like Naby just bit the LoveBug, but I'm going to kill that son of a bitch that did that to her," Joe says with a serious tone in his voice.

Naby. I liked that name. It was an interesting one. Wonder if that was a made up couple name for us already. Well, for now, we're just friends at least I think.
