~Ashley
I went to the couch and slid right next to Chris. He put his arm around my shoulder. We were face to face. My breath right one top of his. Normally, I would be scared and nervous. But now, it just feels so right.Without saying another word, he pushed his lips against mine. Our lips moved in sync, slowly getting hot and heavier. This kiss was much deeper then the others, twiddled each other's toughs and biting each others lips. This was the first time he kissed me like this. And I loved it.
We stayed like that for what felt like an hour, just laying with each other and kissing. When our lips finally broke apart for the last time, it was already noon.
"So how about we get some lunch?" We knew both of us were getting hungry after that long night.
"Sounds like a plan." I got up and slipped on my shoes.
"So, we're too? I was wondering maybe you wanted to check on the others?" He said, putting on his shoes as well.
"Erm, sure, I guess. I'm just not sure if they want to see us right now." I thought how Emily now hated me because I wanted her out of the safe room.
"I bet they're all doing the same thing we are. They'll want to see us." He got out his phone and make a group chat.
Chris: hey guys, wanted to know how you're all doin. Text me soon, me and ash wanna go out for lunch at the diner.
Within seconds we got a reply, from the last persons I expected as well.
Sam: doing a little rough, but I'm hungry, so I wouldn't mind going with you. Text you when I get there.
"Wow, I thought she'd be a little more upset about Josh...They were close." I knew she wasn't fine. She liked him, and we all knew.
"I know, I hope she's ok. If she pushes all of her feelings aside, then she's gonna end up like Josh." Chris was just as worried as me.
We didn't get responses from Mike or Jess, which was expected, and I had a feeling that the only reason Emily replied was because Matt forced her to go with him.
Em and Matt: we'll be there soon
We went to the diner and got a table for 5, and we waited. We really didn't talk, just gazed at the menu, but we both knew what we were thinking about.
Seeing everyone again after that night. How were they coping? I wasn't sure. As for me, I'm pushing it aside, still in shock. I haven't fully processed what had happened, and I'm planing to keep it that way.
Soon enough, Sam walked in. She looked completely...different to say the least. Her eyes were red and her hair messy. Instead of her normal colorful cloths, she wore a black hoodie, grey sweatpants and black Uggs. She kept her hood up even after entering the diner.
"Hey, guys. How's it going." She sat down next to us, her voice hoarse.
Chris and I glanced at each other, seeing how much she had changed in only a few hours.
"Um, were alright to say the most. To be quite honest, I haven't processed anything that happened. It still feels like a nightmare." I replied.
"Yeah, uh. As you can see, it all..it all finally hit me." She looked down into her hoodie.
"I didn't mean to-" She cut me off, "Ashley, it's fine, I'm fine."
"No, your not fine Sam. I'm sorry to say, but your doing the same exact thing Josh did after his sisters died. It's not healthy. You can't hold in your feelings, please just talk to one of us or some family, or anyone." Chris unexpectedly said.
Tears rolled down her face, landing on her hoodie. She didn't respond, I felt so bad for her.
