I was in process of watching another Buzzfeed video, only to get interrupted by a knock at the front door.

I looked at the clock on the wall and realized it's 5 after 6.

"Shit, that must be Ashton," I say aloud.

I ran downstairs and opened up the door to see a sweaty Ashton.

"Ashton it's a five minute walk and your sweating like an ice-cream on a hot summer day," I laugh as he walks in.

He laughs along with me."I'm not very fit."

"So, Mason is going to pick us up at six thirty," I state while walking up the steps to go to my room.

"Then why the hell did you tell me to come at 6?" He follows.

"So you can help me pick out what to wear, duh," I roll my eyes.

"Ugh," he groans.

I don't have very many dresses, but every now and then I'll buy a dress for certain occasions or if I feel like it.

-

I decided on wearing a simple black dress that fell about the length of my knees. Ashton didn't really help me pick out what to wear, he just sat on my bed the entire time mumbling 'no' to every dress I tried on.

I didn't do much with my hair, I just kept it in its natural wavy state that flows past my mid back and I applied a small amount of mascara. I didn't want to go overboard and look like an entire different person.

I looked at the clock and realized that Mason should be here at any moment, so I joined Ashton on my bed and scrolled through my social media.

Within a few minutes Mason arrived and Ashton and I made sure we had everything, then headed downstairs.

-

The drive so far is horrible. I forced Ashton to sit in the front seat with Mason for the entire drive, hoping they would bond. To my luck, it just made things completely worse. They kept nagging at each other and picking fights over the stupidest little things.

"There is nothing wrong with drums," huffed Ashton.

"Well if you want to be a rock-star you need an electric guitar, now that's bad ass."

"Maybe I don't want to be bad ass," Ashton said.

"You're not going to get any chicks playing the drums."

"ENOUGH!" I yelled. "Can the both of you please stop arguing with each other? Who cares that Ashton likes the drums Mason, it's what he likes and it makes him happy."

Ashton turned to smile at me while Mason just mumbled something under his breath.

-

For the rest of the ride I decided to put my headphones in, just in case so that if they did start picking a fight again, I wouldn't be able to hear it. I'm pretty sure there was a little nagging after that incident, but it was only minor and lasted a few seconds.

Before I knew it, the ride was over and we were at the party.

"So whose party is this exactly?" Ashton questioned while getting out of the car.

"Max's," Mason answers immediately. "He's my best mate."

"You've never mentioned him," I ask.

"Because I didn't think I had to include you on my personal life," he spat. "Now, try not to make a full out of yourself," he added while pointing directly at Ashton then running ahead of us to meet with his friends.

"I don't know why you're even with him."

"Ashton, I really like him," I state. "And it's starting to really piss me off that the two of you can't get along."

"I try Sky, I really do, but he's a total douche."

"Sure he says things here and there, but he wouldn't be a douche if you actually gave him a chance," I argue.

"Skylar, you don't understand, he's a total asshole, he's probably just using you. The way he treats you is unreal."

"Party by yourself," I huffed and walked away from him.

It upsets me that my best friend for years, won't even give my boyfriend a chance.

I try to forget about it as I head into the house. The music was extremely loud, and I'm not going to lie, I really liked it. It was some how calming.

I walked through the front doors and saw people amongst people. Since I was all alone and I was in a mad state, my first instincts were to go straight to the alcohol.

So I did.

|Ashton's POV|

I walked inside t

he huge mansion type house hoping to get my mind off of Skylar. She was really raising my temper. She doesn't see the fact that Mason is a total dick and he's using her. He doesn't actually like her, but she doesn't seem to see that.

I head into the living room and saw a crowd of people huddled around a table. I assumed they were playing beer pong. I headed on over and my assumptions were correct as I saw a bunch of guys throwing little plastic balls into red solo cups.

After a few minutes of staring, a guy around my age with blue coloured hair yells at me to come over.

"Me?" I question.

"Yes you," he laughed as I headed on over. "Mate, you look like a lost puppy." He pats my shoulder.

"I'm not much of a party person," I state scratching the nape of my neck.

"Play a few games with us then," he smirks while taking a shot.

"I don't know," I begin to panic.

"Come on man, what's the worst that could happen?" He asks. "You seem like a pretty chill guy, so hang with us."

I think about the incident that just happened with Skylar a few moments ago and realized this is my way to her off of my mind.

"Why not?" I smirk.
