“Drew’s really back?” Ryder asked Lexi during lunch. She just groaned and nodded. “Ask Selah. She knows all about it.”
Ryder raised an eyebrow and plastered an amused look on his pretty face. “Care to share Selly?”
“First off it’s Selah, and second sure.” I smirked, pretty sure Halley and Anela would get a kick out of what happened.
“So first Sam showed up out of no where and it was awkward for a couple minutes. Then Drew was like ‘You like my little sister?’ and Sam started blushing like an idiot.”
“Well this is interesting.” Ryder said in a bored tone, rolling his eyes.
“K well you’re going to love the next part of my story.”
“Shoot.” He scoffed.
“So then Drew asks me if I’m still dating that egotistical bastard with the bad hair and speckled skin.” Lexi and I looked at each other while suppressing laughs. Sam was absent today, on the 4th day of school too. Tsk tsk Mr. Martinez.
“Who’s that?” Halley questioned before I could rub it in Ryder’s face. But this made it all the better. “You’re boyfriend.” I giggled, noticing Ryder’s face was a little more purple than usual.
“Yeah, but look at me now. And look at you. Who’s better looking?” He shot back, smirking his infamous smirk.
“Selah.” Lexi, Shannon, Camilla and Anela-Brooke said in union while Halley leaned her head on Ryder’s shoulder with a sheepish face.
“Whatever.” I rolled my eyes.
“I’m so completely ready for Camilla’s party.” Shannon practically moaned. “It’s going to be awesome, right Camilla?”
“Yes sir. I even got Fredrick to supply some illegal liquids. Thanks to his new crush on Selah, it was easy to convince him to bring it. All I said was ‘Selah asked for it’ and he basically handed me the stuff.” Camilla laughed.
“Cam! “ I yelled, wondering all the sudden where my date was. I wasn’t entitled to know though, he was only my date. He hadn’t specified that meant he was interested in hanging out with me.
“What? Ryder wouldn’t dare show up if there wasn’t any liquids of the illegal kind.”
“Where is he getting it?”
“Willing parents. People say they have serious issues so they give him whatever he wants for his affection.”
“Seriously?”
Camilla scoffed at me. “Psh, how am I supposed to know? I heard it from Brian.”
“Oh how was that day he came over!” Lexi said suddenly, like she remembered something that should have been forgotten.
“It was good I guess? He just helped me with homework.”
“That’s all?”
“Oh! And we had some serious pizza eating action.” I winked at Lexi suggestively.
She glared at me before finishing her water and getting up.
“You coming?” She motioned to me and I nodded.
We walked out of the cafeteria and onto a bench.
“Sel, I’m worried about Hails.”
“Why?”
“Ryder keeps eyeing you out. We both know you two were in love. Even 2 years isn’t enough for some couples.”
“Look, there’s a reason we aren’t a couple anymore. If I knew I’d tell you.” I almost shouted, my head starting to hurt.
