Chapter 10

It was Tuesday, only a few days after Luke's "accident." It was at that time, Liz realized that Kristin, Nia, and Michael all needed to be back at school!

"Kids! I've been so worried about Luke, I never really noticed you would have to be in school! Liz explained to all three of them outside of Luke's room.

"Oh my god! I never realized that either!" Nia and Kristin said.

Michael didn't care, "no one probably noticed I was out..."

Kristin wanted to stay anyway, she loved Luke, but she loved Michael more! Nia was so afraid to leave Luke, they've been friends since kindergarten... Michael, on the other hand wanted to stay to protect Kristin from Luke, he didn't want Luke to talk to her about the past. Michael hated talking about his past, and he still does. Even though Luke and Nia were Michael's best friends, he still hated the past, only because his dad was in it!

Kristin was at home... Which was very awkward, considering she left without telling. She began to head upstairs to her room after her trip back, thanks to Liz.

"Where have you been?! You just leave like that! You're mom and I were worried about you!!!" Kristin's dad screamed out at Kristin.

"I was at the hospital, caring for Luke because he's in a coma!" Kristin yelled and ran upstairs to her room.

"You come back here!" He yelled, following her up.

In her room she cried as she lied down on the bed, her father came up to her, pulled her up by her hair, and slapped her right across the face! She let out more and more cries.

"Suck it up, you slut!" He yelled as he left the room.

"Where's mom!?" Kristin yelled as she slowly walked downstairs.

"She's at work! Tell her I slapped you and I'll kill you and her!" He explained with an evil grin.

Kristin ran back upstairs and locked the door. She was so afraid, she felt safer around Michael then her own dad!

Michael was also driven home by Liz, however his home was Liz's as well.

"Thanks for the ride!" Michael said as he walked out of the car.

Michael went to his room, and he was notified by at least 12 text messages that Kristin was meeting him in the park, where their first date was. Michael was so confused and scared, he couldn't even type, "what's going on?" Instead he typed, "on my way!"

At the park, Kristin was sitting in a curled up position, Michael approached her.

"What's going on?" He sat down and put his arm around her shoulder.

"I-I can't live in m-my house a-any more...." She could barely talk.

"Why not?"

"M-my dad-" she began to cry, "my dad abuses me! He slapped me across the face and pulled me up by my hair!!!!!"

She couldn't handle herself, she burred her head into Michael's chest. Michael rubbed her head.

"It's ok, I know your pain! I went through the same stuff... Only if I found my dad, I would kill that bastard!" Michael said, letting a few tears out.

Kristin jumped up, "y-you would?"

"Probably... But as long as I have you, I have no one to be mad at," Michael said with a smile.
