Chapter 8

Luke had been punched by Michael, but he never woke up...

Kristin and Nia were in the hospital with him. Since Michael punched him, he never showed up, Kristin wouldn't allow it. So, Michael took her word, and never went in the hospital room.

"Oh my! Is he okay? Who did this!!!" Luke's mom asked Kristin.

"He's okay, I hope!" Kristin explained, "hey, I'm Kristin... Luke's-" she looked at Michael outside of the window looking out into the waiting room, "I'm Luke's close friend."

"Awwww, sweetie. It's okay if you say you're his girlfriend, I can tell you like him," Luke's mom winked.

Kristin looked down and giggled, "oh, uhm- I have a boyfriend!"

Nia rushed over to Kristin, "wait, what even happened?"

Kristin gave Nia 'the look' that signaled her to go away.

Luke was still asleep, in a coma actually!

"Can I talk to you, Michael?" Kristin asked Michael.

"Uhm- sure..." Michael said.

They walked over to the snack machine, "sorry, I've been in there for a while and I'm starving!"

Michael laughs, "yeah, I'm hungry too! Oh- what's your question by the way?"

"Oh, uhm- it's nothing really."

"Come one, ask me," Michael says, pulling Kristin's arm.

She smiles, "I was going to ask if you wanted to come in the room with us, you know, because I'm kinda tired of seeing you alone outside the window."

"Oh, I can come in now?"

Michael was confused, "did you even tell Luke's mom it was me?"

"N-no..." Kristin said with a sad look.

"Who does she think it is?"

"I told her Luke fell."

Michael puts his hand and his forehead," you better hope he loses his memory, because if not, he'll tell his mom what really happened!"

Kristin felt so stupid, what if he did remember, what would he tell his mom, would his mom trust Kristin? She couldn't think straight, she was so worried about Luke, and also worried about her relationship with Michael! She had no idea what to do.

The next day, Luke was, sadly, still sleeping. A room filled with family and good friends of Luke. However, Kristin wasn't there?

"Hey," Michael says to Luke's mother, "have you seen Kristin anywhere?"

"She's out... Eh, somewhere? She left before we woke up. She's probably downstairs at the food court. I don't actually know where she is though..." She explained.

"It's okay, I'll find her."

"Hey, you know Luke is fine, no need to worry... You can go home," Luke's mom said while rubbing Michael's shoulder.

"Well, ma'am, I can't really go home..." Michael looked down, "my mom lost her job and we got kicked out of our house."

Luke's mom looked sad, "don't worry you and your mom can live over at my place, we have to much room anyway!"

Michael laughed, "my mom is living with her boyfriend... And she said I could 'do my own thing."

"Well, then it will be just you, me, and Luke."

"If you insist- thank you for letting me stay, ma'am," Michael looks up, "I... I have to find Kristin!"

Michael runs across the hospital, looking for Kristin of course.

He finally found her outside of the hospital, sitting on a bench.

"Hey! Kristin, why are you sitting here all alone?"

"I just need some time to myself," she answered calmly.

"Do you even care about Luke?"

Kristin looked at Michael, "of course I care about Luke, he's my best friend... But it's really awkward when your best friend likes you! He is really over protective over me, and some times when you come around, he gets jealous."

"Oh- I'm sorry... If it makes you happy, you can have Luke," Michael said, being truthful as ever.

"No... I don't want him!" Kristin yells a little.

"Then what do you want?"

"I want you.... And only you, your face, your hair, your lips, your eyes, your pale skin, you.... I want you!"
