Chapter 1
TWO YEARS LATER
( EDITING IN PROGRESS SORRY FOR THE INCONVENIENCE)
Breathe.
I hitched my now heavy school bag further up my shoulder after just leaving the administration office and was met with the hundred pairs of beady-eyed students of Craven high. Okay so maybe their eyes were not beady but they were curious.Murmurs filled the hallways and whispers emancipated from the students. " look at her clothes"..." Who is that?"... I made no attempt in acknowledging their opinions but busied my way over to my locker where a boy was casually leaning on it.
" Excuse me, but I need to get to my locker." He stared at me, his smirk revealing two gorgeous on either side of his handsome face. Sigh. He was the kinda boy your mumma would absolutely adore having over for---
" No. What you need is a lesson is wadrobe malfunction.. What you do? Get dressed in the dark? You're displeasing the human eye here." I take that back. This guy was an ass. It took me a second to recover from his comment but it wasn't the first to be subjected my way. But in some cases retaliation was a great prime example of signifying your stance in high school. " Well... you're one to talk, Mr. My Mumma picks out all my preppy clothes. Get that pole out of your ass. It's concerning."
With that being said I decided to skip my locker and head straight to class.Who needs books right? " Wait up!... Hey new girl, wait up!" I spun around to find dimple cheeks running after me, I cocked an eyebrow at him. " You've got spunk... I like that" I continued to glare at thisboy who not only a minute ago insulted me.
" I'm Adam, I tend to challenge new comers here at Craven High... Didn't think you'd actually react..."
" Is that because yourself are mentally challenged?" I arched an eyebrow his way once again before returning his introduction. " Yeah well, I'm late so I've got to go." Adam recovered from his stuper to ask " Aren't you going to tell me your name"... " It's Tabetha, but call me Beth"
" Well Beth... you have just been blessed and graced to have yours truly" He paused point at himself "to be your personal tour guide." " Is everyone as cocky as you?" I rolled my eyes. " nope, just me toots" He winked. Argh. This guy clearly had no idea who he was talking to " Toots...really?" " Is that not working for us?" I began my retort but was cut off when he tried to casually sling his arm on my shoulder. " Dude, what is wrong with you? Do you want to keep your arm?!" He dropped his arm almost instantly and gave me a sheepish smile " I like you, you're different... most girls would be at my feet by now." He wiggled his brows expectantly while i snorted at his remark " what do you do? Trip them on purpose?" It took him a second too long to close his now gaping mouth, like come on... that's a fly trap right there!
We began to head back to my locker because my new 'friend' Adam had informed that we'll be needing a copy of Shakespeares Romeo and Juliet for today's lesson. Being homeschooled for most of my life was always to my advantage. I received the extra attention that was needed to succeed beyond the expected standard, and to keep up with my sport. Well it used to be my sport... I left that life behind when I moved. I was pulled out of my trance when a young, and might I say very good looking man, possibly mid to late twenties was staring at my expectantly to answer his question which I happened to completely ignore. " I'm sorry what did you say?" There were a few giggles from the back grow but I decided I would save my glares for a different time. A hearty laugh came from the man who I presume was the teacher, personally I didn't think it was THAT funny, but he jsut asked me to introduce myself to the class. Snickers from the back row echoed throughout the room. Some blonde haired bimbo who looked like she rolled around in too much doritos announced foolishly " You are like, in such a fashion faux-pas ATM, it's like social suicide, Just you know, FYI"
