Alex slipped into the dark basement, which he had dubbed his own, only to find Gabe sitting in the chair at the desk watching his entrance. “Where are you coming from,” Gabe asked thoughts swimming in his muted sepia eyes.

“Just from that party we went to. Tried to look for you couldn’t find you anywhere,” Alex said lying through his teeth. He hadn’t spent one measly second looking for his friend. Once thoughts of Jocelyn entered his brain he was likely to forget everything.

A smile slipped on to Gabe’s face. Alex was certain he knew something. “Really? Then why do you smell like that,” Gabe said using the same exact words Alex had the night before. Instead of responding how Gabe had, Alex walked over to his bed, but before he could sit down, Gabe spoke, “You wouldn’t want to do that.”

Straightening up, Alex responded, “Why not?”

“Dakota. Since she still doesn’t know you’re done with her, she’ll get pissed. And she might even remember the scent. Then she’ll want revenge,” Gabe said with wisdom in his eyes that Alex had never noticed before. “You know her better than anyone. Can you honestly say that she’ll stand for this, especially seeing as her and Anya haven’t spoken one nice word since they met,” Gabe paused as Alex thought. He knew Gabe was smart. He had to be to have survived the reign of Drusilla, but for some reason it was so easy to forget those facts when with Gabe. “You never do anything without a motive, why her,” Gabe asked walking Alex into the bathroom.

Alex undressed and slipped behind the shower curtains before replying, “You cannot tell anyone, but she's the most powerful thing I've felt since Musette."

“Musette, that old witch,” Alex heard Gabe say under the power from the showerhead. “I’ve never felt her for myself, but she was that powerful, huh, that you’d actually follow someone who felt the same?” He sighed looking into the mirror that was slowly fogging up. This could be dangerous.

“You’re not sensitive. Even you had been there you wouldn’t have felt her,” Alex responded turning off the water.

Gabe knew he’d probably regret this, but Alex wouldn’t rest until he got his way. It would be better to rush the process along then let Alex drag it out with careful calculations and sinister plans. Gabe, unlike most of his kind, had a heart and feelings. He just chose to ignore them, and he put way more value on lust then love. But Alex was Alex and he knew from watching Anya and Dakota any girl, no matter who she was, would fall hard and fast.

“I know where she works,” he said while Alex stepped out of his shower and wrapped a towel around his waist. “It’s this dinky little diner where everyone’s on skates. I think she has a shift later on tonight.”

“Good. We’ll go, tonight. Tell everyone,” Alex responded slipping to his bed. Gabe didn’t like the sound of that. It was never a good idea to bring along the whole coven. Though they were small and only consisted of five people at the moment, they were five people who didn’t believe in rules. And the public should have never been burden with them.

Alex closed his eyes in hopes of sleep and pondered his next move. Jocelyn Waters would be his to control if it was the last thing he did.
