I spun my head towards the sound, keeping my head down, then I had just realised what I had done, and whats going to happen when the police find the body. I heard whispers in someone's mind, I couldn't tell who it was, I turned and grabbed my dagger and slid it back into my hip holder. Then I ran for it, I wasn't wanting to have my identity leaked this early in the mission. I left the body behind. Bad mistake.

I sped home with my vampire speed and was cleaned my self off quickly. I got change and went down stairs grabbing a piece of pizza and going back up stairs. "I'm going to bed" I grumbled with my mouth half full of pizza. "Mk," Crystal replied. I finished my pizza, brushed my teeth and jumped into bed. "Ugh, today," I grumbled, this was my usual reaction to each day anyway. I flicked the light off and closed my eyes.

As usual, the nightmares started.

I was riding in the car, my backpack on the seat next to me. I was leaning my head against the window looking outside at the rows of houses whizzing past. I curled up in a little ball thinking of where I was going, it wasn't a good thought but it would be better to experience it now rather than when I'm emotional. Soon the driver stopped outside a small one story house near the beach and forest area. I got out of the car and lead to the door. The driver knocked and a woman stepped out. Bronde hair swerved down her back. "Crimson? You've grown," she said sternly, as if angry. I tried to smile sarcastically but, I just felt so down. I heard someone coming down the stairs fast, but two fast for anyone human. "CRIMSON" I saw a face appear at the door beside my aunt quickly.

"Hey Crystal," I said, her hair was a white blonde and it was frizzy in a tight bun. She hugged me tightly. "I haven't seen you in years, I've missed you," she said. Her mum tugged her off. "Thank you, Paul," she said to the driver, she nodded and turned back to his car. "Come in Crimson," my aunt said with deadly eyes. She took me upstairs with Crystal jumping behind me, the scene shifted into a bedroom. "Well this is your room, dinners at six thirty, then you do your chores of the dishes, the washing, clean your room and go to bed and then school in the morning," she said. "I noticed there were no pictures of the rest of the family around anywhere aunty," I said to her, I felt tears swelling again. "Its been two months Crimson don't be such a woos and start unpacking," she said more harshly, I was only five.

A haze went over the image and it was a few years later, I could tell because of the candle. A pink cupcake with sprinkles that I bought from the bakery sat on my bed in front of me with a number 7 candle sticking out of it. I pulled it up in my hands and tapped the tip of the wick with my finger, a small flame flickered. I smiled slightly. I closed my eyes and breathed in "Make a wish Crimson," I whispered to my self. I went to breathe in when the door opened. I opened my eyes and quickly chucked the cake out the window beside me with my speed. "What was that?" My aunt asked, "what was what?" I asked. "No tv for the week then, and no breakfast in the morning," My aunt said coldly. I was angry, this was my dark mode. "Loser says what?" I mumbled. "What?" she said, I smirked childishly. "THAT'S IT CRIMSON MIRET YOU'RE GOING TO THE COLD WITH NO FOOD TOMORROW," she screamed in my ear. "No," I said. "What? No? you can't say no," she replied. I saw she was getting ready to punch me. "No, I said no you wanna hear it in Spanish, No," I said.

"Young lady you are walking on very thin ice," she said, I could hear the screech rumbling in her voice. Vampire screech combined with kitsune scream is not good. I closed my eyes keeping them from glowing. I swallowed a scream as I looked back at her. "In half and hour I'm coming back to take you to the cold," she said marching out the door. The cold was like a cell, it was really the basement, a small concrete room with no light or heat, no furniture or anything, you just sit there cold, freezing, at least I had my fox fire.

I had to get out, I couldn't deal anymore with my aunt's cruelty. I grabbed my backpack and started stuffing it with clothes, valuables and others. Crystal came up at one time. "Hey Crimson, happy birthday," she said coming up and hugging me. "Thanks," I said. "I heard where having steak tonight,  your favourite, oh and also here," she said passing me a box, it was wrapped pretty poorly. I unwrapped it somehow. In the box was a small ring, it was silver, it had a fox on the top with a small orange gem for an eye, then on its feet a wolf with a blue gem for its eye. "H-How the hell did you get this Crystal?" I asked. "It's better if you don't ask, just take it," she said, I slipped it on my finger, it was a bit big but I loved it. I hugged her thankfully, I hadn't gotten a preset for years.
