Megan's POV
"Sure, why not?" I answered cheerfully.
"Let's go, I know this bruce place here that I usually go in. We could hang out there and play" Via ran through the street like a child. Randy and I soon followed her.
"Via, slow down a bit" I said, Via then stopped in front of an arcade place called GameHole
"GameHole! Good choice, Via" Randy said, patting her back.
"Shall we go in?" I asked
" Sure" They said in union. We all went inside. The arcade was filled with new games. My eyes seems to sparkle in amaze.
Randy took a deep breath and exhaled "It's good to be back here" I stated
"What do you mean?" Via asked with an eyebrow raised up.
"In here, my friend. They call me 'The King of GameHole' because all of these games you can see as far as you eyes can see, has my face on the top leaderboard with my own undefeated highscore. And I might add, I did not need to use any cheats on that." Randy proclaimed with all his pride.
Via snorted. "Oh please. Your blabbering nonsenses is just making me laugh. In our arcade place in Flackville, no one, like I mean NO ONE has ever beaten my best frien Meg's highscores in every single game we had. She earned 'The Game Beethoven' and everyone calls her like that when she steps in. She's the brucest of the brucest among all bruce people of all. Why not try out your best skill with her skills?" Via challenged me.
"Sure. I'll prove you, Meg. I'm the boss around here but first we are going to buy tokens." Randy said with a determined facial expression.
"I'll buy tokens for us" I said as I started walking to the counter, pulling out my wallet from behind.
Randy ran to me and stopped my motion by grabbing my shoulder. "I'll take care of that. Three bags of tokens, please" He ordered.
Randy's POV
"Okay then. If you're done, we'll be in the FoodHole. You can join us back there with so good ol' nachos." Meg said as she got dragged there by Via. Honestly, those two are really close. It really reminds me about me and Howard.
"Skeebow! You got so damn good looking girlfriend there, Randy." Greg, the owner of the arcade place complimented.
I blushed furiously by the statement. "Oh no... No... No... No... No... You have got it all so wrong. See, she's not my girlfriend. Although, it would have been great if I was but no. She's just a new friend of mine."
Greg raised a brow. "Randy, its too obvious that you already like her. Here. " He picked out two fresh red roses from his vase behind him. "Give this to her and I can assure you would she love it. Trust me on this"
I smiled and took the flowers and bags of tokens, thanking him before I left. I quickly went to the FoodHole soon after and saw them chatting with each other and eating Nachos and Gravy Fries.
"Hey, I'm back. I got the tokens" I hid the flowers behind my back.
"Cool! Have a seat" Via said
I placed the bags of tokens in the table and handed the flowers to Meg. "Here, for you Meg"
Meg blushed and slowly yet hesistantly took the flowers "Thank you, how thoughtful of you, Randy. I never thought a boy would give me flowers"
"You're welcome" I said
"Enough with this lovey-dovey stuff and let's beat the hell out of these games" Via exclaimed with enthusiasm.
"Well, let's go then" I said as we took one bag of token for each other and dashed to selarate arcade machine. For just a few hours, the room echoed with words "New Highscore!!!" with every game maxhine beated by each one. It started to draw attention from other players. Every bystander stood in shock as they cobtinued to watch that one purple haired girl who was ruling all over each one of the games. Meg and Via topped almost the games in the arcade. They had their picture in every high score list, most of them has Meg's picture with different poses on it.
"Well, I'll admit you win, I lose to you girls. " I raised up my hand and surrendered helplessly.
"Meet the new ruler of the arcade 'The Game Beethoven'. Bow before her." Via bowed to Meg.
I bowed as well. She blushed furiously. "Hey both of you, stand now, its embarrassing. Everyone is looking! "
Via stood properly and checked her wristwatch. "Well, I better be going. Flute Girl will flip out if I don't go home early. Bye." Via started to walk away.
"Oh and Cunningham...?" Via called.
"What is it?" I answered
"Don't do anything bad to my best friend. She is my only best friend. Hurt her and I'll make sure you won't get out this town alive" Via added with a dark smile.
I gulped a bit "Don't worry. I won't let her get hurt nor I won't hurt her"
Via smiled and left the arcade with a dark expression.
"Don't listen to her threats. She doesn't do it anyways. She just scaring you to make fun of you." Meg said with a giggle.
"So, Do you want to get back home?" I asked
"You can go ahead and head early. I need to do something back at school. Principal Slimovitz asked me to do something important." Meg said, hesistantly.
"Um... Do you need any help on the way over there or are you good?" I asked, concerned.
"No, it's fine. I can handle it. I know the way. See you later, Randy." Meg went outside and left with a smile. I stood there and like my smile vanished as she left. I walked on my own with the roses she left me with behind. I sighed and looked up at the dimming sky. May this year would be different. I soon reach the confinement of my house and walked upstair. I placed the roses on a vase with water and placed it near the window. As I gazed at her bed, I saw a sillhoutte of her gazing up at the moonlit sky as her eyes twinkled with the stars above. I must say it was a dazzling view but then it was just all in my head. She wasn't there and only the rose on the vase sat near the window sill. I laid my back on the bed as I waited for her to come back in my arms.
