Chapter 14

• Jesse's POV •

We were in English class. Everyone was talking until the teacher asked for our attention.

"Okay, so as you all know you have to finish the project next week." Mrs. Keen says.

That was the moment when I started to panic. I looked at Justin and he looked at me. I quickly looked away and focused on my book. But I knew one thing for sure, I will not let Justin ruin my grades.

After class I walked up to Justin's table.

"Justin, I don't know about you. But I want to finish this project." I say looking straight at him.

"Yes, I guess. Come by my house this afternoon or something." Justin sighed.

I was about to walk off but then Selena, who sat next to Justin said something.

"Umh, Justin why is she talking to you?" Selena says raising her eyebrows.

"We got paired up for the project, don't worry." Justin says rolling his eyes.

I walked off before I said something stupid. But believe me, I was pissed off.

When school was over I met up with Leyla outside.

"Hey girl, how are you?" Leyla says giving me a hug.

"Could've been better." I say with a sigh.

"Tell me everything." She says sitting down on a bench.

"Okay, so you know that project I have with Justin. It has to be done by next week. So I talked to him about it and Selena was there and you know she said some stupid things and I got pissed." I say trying to explain what happened.

"You know what, tonight you're coming to my place and we'll keep our girls night and don't have a care in the world." Leyla says with a smile.

"Yes, sounds like heaven. But first I have to go to Justin for that project." I say grabbing my bag.

"Keep calm babe, you'll be fine." Leyla says trying to comfort me.

"Okay, see you tonight." I say walking off.

"Byebye bring your onesie!" Leyla says laughing.

I walked home and dropped my bag off. I grabbed the stuff we need for the project and walked to Justin's place.

I rung the doorbell and Pattie opened the door.

"Hey sweetie, what a nice surprise it's been so long since I saw you. What are you doing here?" Pattie says with a smile.

"Oh, I came to finish that project with Justin." I say smiling back.

"Is he excpecting you?" Pattie says.

"Yes, he is." I say getting unsure.

"Okay, well he's in his room. You can just walk up there." Pattie says.

"Okay, thanks Pattie." I say walking to Justin's room.

I opened the door and saw Justin hovering Selena on his bed. I screamed and quickly turned around.

"Jesse? What the hell are you doing here. Can't you knock or something?" Justin says getting off Selena.

"I'm here for our project remember? And sorry I'm just used to just walk in here." I yell.

"Well, don't do that. Can't you just leave?" Selena says with an annoying voice.

"What about our project?" I asks getting really mad.

"Can't you just finish it, everything I do is wrong anyway. Why wasting my time?" Justin says.

"Fine, bye Justin I don't know what I did wrong but I guess our friendship is officially over. Please don't talk to me anymore. Especially you Selena" I say getting tears in my eyes.

"My pleasure." Selena says with a fake smile

Justin started laughing. I run down the stairs. I was about to run out the door but Pattie stopped me.

"Hey, sweetie. What's wrong?" Pattie says worries.

"It's nothing don't worry Pattie." I say trying to smile.

Before Pattie could even say something I run out the door. I grabbed my bags and my car keys. (yes, I have a car but I just don't drive that much) I put my stuff in the car and started driving to Leyla. It was raining pretty hard. My view was kind of blurry. I heard someone honk really hard, I looked to my right and saw a car. The next thing I heard was an ambulance and then everything went black.
