Chapter 16

• Justin's POV •

We were sitting here for almost an hour until a doctor walked our way. Marie jumped up and looked at the doctor desperately.

"Are you Jesse's mother?" The doctor asks looking at Marie.

"Yes, how is she? Is she doing okay?" Marie asks.

"The surgery succeeded. But she lost a lot of blood, so we are keeping her in a coma." The doctor says.

"Can we see her?" Marie asked quickly.

"Yes, but only one by one, it can't be too busy in there" the doctor said.

We wished Marie good luck as she walked to Jesse's room with the doctor.

My mom looked at me and smiled "It's going to be okay Justin I promise."

"I hope so." I said giving my mom an hug.

After 15 minutes Marie came back with tears in her eyes. My mom went up to her to give her a hug

"How was she?" I asked.

"She has bruises everywhere, she looks really bad." Marie said.

"Can I please go see her?" I said with tears in my eyes.

"Of course Justin." Marie said giving me a hug. "It's down the hall and then the third door on the left."

I thanked Marie and started walking towards Jesse's room. My heart started pounding really bad. I was so nervous to see her.

I arrived to the door, it seemed like hours before I opened the door.

And there she is. Her faces was covered in bruises and cuts. She had a cast on her left arm and on her right leg. She looked so hurt and yet so beautiful.

I went up to her and carefully picked up her hand.

"Hey Jesse it's me Justin." I said hoping she would hear me. "I know you probably don't want to see me. I know I was being a pretty huge dick."

I feel terrible looking at her. She looks so hurt. I grabbed a chair and sat down next to Jesse. I've just sat there for 15 minutes. Not saying a word, just watching her. Then is saw someone running up to the window in Jesse's room. It was Leyla. She looked at Jesse with tears in her eyes. Then she saw me. She gave me a small wave.

I stood up and walked towards the door. In the hallway Leyla gave me a hug. "How is she?" Leyla asked.

"The doctors are keeping her in a coma. She broke her arm and her leg pretty bad. She was unconscious when she came in so no one knows how she would come out if she wakes up." I said.

Leyla looked at me and then trough the window again to Jesse. "Can I go see her? Can I talk to her? Would she hear me?" Leyla said.

"Of course you can go in, and I don't know if she could hear you but you can at least try." I said giving her a comfort smile.

"Thanks Justin, will you please wait for me in the hall." Leyla asked looking scared.

I told Lelya I would wait and as she walked in Jesse's room I walked towards the wall and sat down on the ground.

I got my phone out of my pocket and I had 2 new messages.

"Hey Justin. Me and Marie are in the cafeteria drinking some coffee. Call me if you need us. Love mom."

I smiled and texted my mom back that Leyla is here now and that I'm fine.

I went to see who else texted me and I it was Selena. I sighed and opend her text.

"Justin! Where are you, you can't just leave my like that come back to me or I'll never talk to you again!!"

I got really bad at this moment and decided to call her.

Phone convo:

S: Justin where the hell are you?!

J: Selena are you kidding me, Jesse is in the hospital

S: Yes, I don't care you can't just leave me like that are you serious? You can see Jesse after you drove me home right.

J: You can't be serious right now Selena. Jesse is in a coma. She is my best friend what do you expect?

S: Your best friend? You treat her like shit.

J: Don't you get it, that's because I fucking love her and I am fucking jealous that's the only reason I'm with you.

S: Thanks a lot Justin, I only wanted to be with you because we could be prom king and queen but I'll find someone else. Bye don't talk to me ever again.

J: My pleasure.

I hang up the phone. Then I started thinking. I loved her? Do I love Jesse? I mean I really like hanging out with her and it really hurt me to see her with that Nate guy. Shit I really do love her.
